Losing Basic Badge? šŸ˜±

This is not the only blockchain forum in the world.

Some people look at 5-10 forums to see new projects. If the Trondao forum is most active during voting time, it is inevitable that both bots and such people will come to the forum at the same time. So I do not find this suggestion applicable.

Instead of taking away the basic authority of normal users; it seems better to me to focus on taking away the basic authority of accounts that use repetitive sentences and constantly post AI-generated comments or invalidating their votes.

I respect everyoneā€™s opinion but this is my opinion

Once again Iā€™m not saying people should be constantly active. But at least have a look from time to time and why not post a comment. If they lose their basic badge, no drama. They will regain it by naturally and simply reading hackathon entries during the voting period. It will only bother people who are managing 50 accounts.

No biggie bro, everyone can have his own opinion :beers:

The voting period currently 7 days( 1 week).
Was shifted from 3days to 7 days.

My suggestion here is, maybe it should be difficult
To get voting or basic right to vote around voting period.

Yes but I am more convinced that having a face behind every profile will be more fair to everyone. Again, the basic level should be made more strict to earn. It shouldnā€™t be only flipping through a few post, like and ask Ai generated questions to earn. There shouldbe a period of time someone should stay in the forum before earning the rank. In addition to that, the user must have proof and demonstrated some level of commitment before such user can be granted the rank.

Which equally means youā€™re proposing for the 2 ranks we enjoy permanently to be made like that of the regular rank :joy:

When did I say that?

I said fake accounts get removed. No matter the rank. They are banned and canā€™t vote anymore.

Oh yes, I was only drawing back to when you said the basic rank should be withdrawn if no activity from the user and that the level 2 rank should not be affected (here meaning permanent, right?) Now bot account being removed no matter the account rank. What if some genuine users get affected to?
I still remember last season when a hackaTron participant was complaining that his teamā€™s account was adjudged to be a bot account :joy:

Well I donā€™t just know but itā€™s somehow difficult to apply a solution that will be completely perfect but we should try the one that appears close to it

Well bots being removed and collateral damages have nothing to do with my proposal. Itā€™s how it goes and how it has been for seasons.

All Iā€™m saying is that someone managing 50 bots are unlikely to reach tl2 and if they do theyā€™ll anyways most likely get spotted and removed. Then theyā€™ll have to do everything again from start. Not really worth it.

So better target tl1 that are ā€œdormantā€ as soon as the first hackathon they participate in ends. They usually will be active to get tl1, vote, then ā€œsleepā€ until next vote. Cast 1 vote, and back to sleep. Some real users might do the same. Well itā€™s ok. Just come back, read hackathon entries, say hello and youā€™ll get your badge back :man_shrugging:

I really donā€™t see how that would be a bad thing honestly

It probably wonā€™t solve the problem. But will make it less easy and attractive for fraudsters.

Thanks for bringing this up but I donā€™t think is ok initiating a system that retune or remove users badges based on activity level.
In my point of view it will have a favourable and unfavorable effects to the member, knowing that so many members in this platform are engaged in several personal activity so removing their badges may demoralized, frustrate and make them feel less concern about the platform, and we should also know that this platform educate and exposed people.
In other hands is good because it will nurture a sense of belonging among active members, but I think a different strategy should be implement instead of removing badges.

This is a very heated topic in the forum and there has been a lot of great ideas expressed so far. I like your suggestion for removing of the basic badge for inactive accounts but this will not create a permanent solution to the problem because this badge is the easiest badge to get. In my opinion, this should be one of the hardest badges to get because it help in shaping the outcome of the purpose of this forum and Tron ecosystem. If those accounts lose the badges because they have not been active in the group for letā€™s say 1 month or 2, they can get it back in under 5 minutes. Instead of removing the badge, the team should make voting only for L2 users which is more hard to earn than the L1 badge.

:eyes: Ops I misunderstood this

This is actually a great concern, I like the idea, for people that are busy I think they will have to create little more time to earn the badge back to stay active again.

After reading this post I pause and ask myself what we want from people to keep this forum active after hackathons. Without sounding emotional there is little that the developers or regular users can do to save this situation. The buck of what should be done lies on the Tron team. Things like constant updates on the activities happening in the Tron ecosystem will work the magic in keeping the forum active after hackathons. They are doing it already on Twitter, why not doing it too in our own platform, Tron DAO forum?
If they lack the workforce to constantly push Tron announce here, they can hire someone from here who will be responsible on pushing Tronā€™s announcements here. Try this a couple of times and watch the activities here increasing

No those can get TL3

Thatā€™s a very fair point. How can we expect the community to be active on the forum when even the team ignores it?

Iā€™ve thought about this but would love ideas from the community around this too. Any outlandish ideas accepted.

I personally thought of

  1. Adding bounty/job boards here for devs looking for work or to post freelance/jobs both TRON DAO or people on TRON need help with.
  2. Having open Applications for additional funding like grants with TRON DAO responding publicly.
  3. Having posts related to the Governance of TRON include: Node version updates, SR proposal initiations and discussions that are opened on Github. This should be automated and connected with github.
  4. Looking for Team Topic for the Hackathon
  5. A public event calendar along with postings of what is happening at events.
