Builders keep building
Exactly . Have the fundamentals ready and improve upon it
Why not? Where is it said I cannot? Or how much I can change it then? 50%? Who decides this? Can I change from dex to a dex that only deals with NFTs? 70%?
I would really need to see some clear rules. Please send me an official link with this information.
And again, most projects have halted development after deadline and some even say its not allowed to change right now. So there is clear confusion here. And its a real pity, because builders want to keep building.
You entered the competition with a product, you stick with the product and improve it. That’s all haha
You are not forced to believe me But I’m telling you, nobody will blame you if you keep making your product better and better
I’d say that people are now going to vote for a product based on the presentation you have made. If you keep improving it, then you just make it even better than expected. What’s wrong with that?
But if you decide to do something different, then you are not respecting your promises of delivering a certain product. So most likely you won’t get the prize in total.
Don’t forget that what matters here is not builders. The stars are the products.
Those who have stopped developing it is their loss. And who say it is not allowed? I only see you and @Rink3y raising this concern. Now only you. You can continue improving on your project instead talking on this issue which everyone is clearly telling you that you can continue development
I agree with all the soft points, the vision etc, I’m a developer myself, I get it. I’m just saying there is no information anywhere which regulates this.
The only official info we have is that submission (submission contains demo link, smart contracts etc) is not allowed to be edited. A separate black and white paragraph in the rules saying this. How should I deduct from this paragraph that actually I can change anything and everything until judging? I agree that project should get better, but I cannot see how I can interpret the rules in this way.
So the end result is that some (all?) judges will open the dapp, click around and test. And some projects are a lot more polished, have more features etc since 7th of May. While others are exactly the same. Those who have been around (participated in previous HackaTRONs) have made changes and those who just rely on rules stating no submission changes are allowed, have not made any improvements to the demo app. Very unfair.
He is saying 60-70%. And I remember clearly few posting that they have halted development for the judging. I cant go now through all the projects, takes too much time to find this specific posts.
If you want this to be added to the rules you are more than welcome to tag @SimbadMarino and @WindsOfChange92. The inputs from the community are more than welcome. Maybe an official statement could also be posted in the hackathon section of the forum so other projects will see this as well.
They have set mainnet launch by June 28th. Not project completion of their MVP
hold on, look i only asked - why do some project submitted uncomplete / unusable project that are not ready, and the concerned i had was that they should at least make a useable product instead them of just pushing the project complete date till when hackathon ends.
and the concern came after checking some of the post - and like i said early about 60 or 70% are not ready, not even the fundamental part(that was why i referred to a dex as an example)
and so i asked does that qualify ?
am not confused about the rules my concerned was why do people ignore the rules and still submitted even when they dont have a working project.
Incomplete projects will not qualify for the judging and voting period.
Ah yeah that’s a different topic. About 70% of projects have been excluded. So I guess this answers your concern.
So this was a misunderstanding. He was talking about projects that shouldn’t qualify because don’t have the minimal requirements.
But about the other discussion, it has been cleared up by an admin:
Hello all, this is definitely a great thread to take into consideration!
There is always room for improvement and if the community and projects believe it is no so clear on what’s the minimum expected as MVP by end of submission or pre-selection then we have to clarify better and improve rules/considerations for projects.
We will make sure the suggestions are considered for future hackathons!
Thank you for speaking up!
I think that the main confusion here is on how do you define a submission vs actual code/ project in my opinion. We will make sure this is clarified on season 7 onwards as I personally noticed several participants are confused as on what’s allowed and what is not related to code updates. Put it simple you cannot change your project goal/purpose after submission but you are allowed to upgrade your code to improve it all the way from submission to main net .
