Project Overview

Project Goal: help tron newcomers get gas to send USDT TRC-20 (1000 WAU already).

Unique Value Proposition: no other dapp allows to exchange USDT → TRX if the user doesn’t have any TRX right now.

Project Demo: it’s been fully working for 6 months - buytrx.org.

Expected Completion Date for 2025: I want to reach 50k weekly active users by the end of 2025.

Current Progress (%): I got 1000 weekly active users right now.

Technical & Governance Details

Project Test Instructions: Go to buytrx.org, click “Buy”, connect any of the supported wallets and sign a transaction.

Technical Details: typescript, nodejs, postgres.

Smart Contract Links: swaps go through this wallet TWaPyBMKZLnqncm4bT8oDF6sL3nnDfMGai, but there is no smart contract as it would make swaps much more costly.

How is the Project Governed?: centralized.

Funding & Business Model

Funding Request: $160k for 5 months. It will be spent on testing marketing hypothesis. Specifically:

  1. Hire 1 top-tier person to manage all of marketing ($8k / mo, $40k total).

  2. Hire 1 partnerships person to get integrated into as many sites & wallets as possible ($6k / mo, $30k total).

  3. Hire 1 customer support person ($2k / mo, $10k total).

  4. Spend $10k total on testing advertising platforms (google, telegram, X).

  5. Order ads from youtube, twitter, telegram KOLs for $10k.

  6. Order content for our own social media for $20k.

  7. Order content & blogposts for SEO for $40k.

There is no need in hiring any engineers as I do everything engineering-related by myself.

Revenue Model: It takes a fee from swaps. I can provide detailed financial information upon request in telegram: @nebolax0.

Preferred Collaboration Method: I need a lot of connections with Tron people and a lot of promotion on Tron sites, in Tron telegram chats, in Tron wallets, in Tron KOL blogs. I have 1000 WAU already, which proves that the world needs buytrx.org. Now I need to expand as fast as possible.

Project Milestones

Project Milestones:

  1. By September 2025 test if paid ads make sense. I will try google ads, telegram ads, twitter ads and see if they make commercial sense.

  2. By October 2025 test if ordering ads from KOLs makes sense. I will order ads from youtube bloggers, twitter bloggers, telegram bloggers and see if it makes commercial sense.

  3. By December 2025 test if making customg social media content makes sense. I will spend 3 months filling telegram and X with content targeted at Tron newcomers. Then we will see if people engage with this content and become users of the site.

  4. By December 2025 test if SEO makes sense. I will write blogs targeted at Tron newcomers and see if people read them & become users.

Project in 5 Years: In long term, buytx will transition into a platform for companies to manage USDT TRC-20. All companies that work with USDT right now do it via Trust Wallet, CEXes and other tools that are tailored for trading, not money transfers. buytrx will transition into a tool dedicated for USDT TRC-20 processing, invoicing, etc. once it grows enough.

As mentioned in the post, I am actively looking for people to promote the project. The concept proved that it works and I got some initial users, now I need to expand.

Yeah, the network fee is fixed at $3.5 right now. For simplicity.

“SEND USDT TO THIS” - what’s crucial is that buytrx.org helps the user to send usdt. I sponsor the user’s transaction so they can send USDT even if they have 0 TRX right now and cannot pay for the transaction.

how best you would trust users you be sending trx to sponsor the tx

Yesss. Someone evil could manipulate, but it will be unprofitable for them because they need funds to top up the wallets that they will use to manipulate buytrx.org. Which makes the manipulation very unlikely.

Plus, buytrx.org has been working for 6 months now, so I guess it proves that its architecture works well.

There is a small telegram channel @buytrxorg. But most of the usage right now is just word of mouth.

Well, I don’t necessarily need all of this money, you know. The more money I get - the more marketing hypothesis I will be able to test.

Also, my main reason for applying here is not the money. But the connections to Tron people that I need. The project will survive even if I get $0, but I really need connections to Tron KOLs, Tron wallets, etc. to promote buytrx.org.

Welcome to TBL, I looked up your funding model and it says 160k for 5 months and also read the breakdown, does that mean 32k budget partitioned to each month spanning the entire duration of 5 months?

Yes, correct. But I want to clarify something.

My reason for applying here is to get attention from core Tron people. My project already has users, but I need to scale. And I need connections for that. Connections to Tron wallets, to Tron communities, to Tron KOLs, etc. To spread the word about buytrx.org.

Money is also nice, but it’s not as necessary as connections. $160k is the ideal amount, but anything between $1 and $160k works.

Your general outlook as to what money is from your own pov is pretty impressive to say the least.

My pov is: I like when projects grow organically and I love to earn money from my users. But I am not a fan of venture money - you need a lot of it, and it’s easy to waste. Sometimes it’s even a curse.

Right now I got a working MVP with basic revenue. It’s already sustainable financially. If I get connections to Tron people => I can get 2-5x more users => I earn more money from my users => I can reinvest this money to test new marketing hypothesis (SEO, social media campaigns, etc. etc.). Nice, organic and beautiful.

Whereas if I don’t get the right connections - I need $160k to test all the marketing hypothesis that I want to test. Not beautiful and worse for everybody.

I really see the value of allowing to swap any amount of USDT to TRX for a fixed amount of fee, correct?

Are you planning to dev an API to allow other dapps provide your service?

There is also a different API that I can provide: an API to send USDT TRC-20 without TRX at all from a standard (not GasFree) wallet and pay for the transaction in USDT.

@manfred_jr as far as I understood you are the main representative of the Tron DAO in TBL, right?

I just wanted to ask for a clarification regarding what I can get from TBL as an applicant.

Can you help me get connections to Tron Wallets (TronLink, Trust Wallet, OKX) for integrations, to Tron telegram chat admins & Tron KOLs for promotion?

Do you have dapp digests where you can help me get published?

In terms of money, what amounts do you expect to give to projects and on what terms? (is it investment or a grant, what is the process for receiving it?)

Are there any other types of support that you provide?
