Hello Dear Mr @mehdidotcafe
Thanks for liking and replying with detailed …
Thank you! And thanks to all of you for asking very relevant questions
Don’t hesitate to ask extra questions
Here are some answers to questions not yet asked:
What is the file size limit on sunshare?
4GB per file currently, but I am working for more, my goal is to have no limit at all.
What is the maximum storage duration on sunshare?
You can share something up to a month.
How many recipients I can share my files with?
Up to 30 recipients per Share.
By the way, here’s the updated UI when uploading files:
So happy to see sunshare in the 9 projects qualified for the integration path!
For a future where file transfer and sharing are transparent, encrypted and decentralized cast your vote for sunshare🌞
Hi @mehdidotcafe and team, good project u have here, is your project powered by btfs for file uploads?
Hello, thanks for your kind message! Yes sunshare is powered by BTFS and uses it to store uploaded files.
BTFS Stored files are encrypted using client side encryption and therefore only sender and recipients are able to read their content.
hey. welcome. I like so much this UI
Thank you very much
How secure is the file encryption?
While accesing your platform, i couldn’t see any reference of btfs. How will i know that u r actually using btfs or not? If you using btfs then please share your btfs node address
That’s a very interesting question, no one has asked it yet.
Sunshare uses client-side symmetric encryption using the AES-GCM algorithm and a 256-bits encryption key length, making it a Military-Grade encryption.
So I would say sunshare’s encryption is highly secure.
More encryption algorithms may be coming in the future to give users a choice.
Thank you for your very valuable feedback!
Here are the sunshare’s BTFS Node details.
It is true that files hashes are currently not displayed at all on the UI, despite being provided by the Sunshare’s API Response after uploading a file.
This is definitely something I should be working on in the next few days in order to bring more transparency to users about the BTFS storage.
You can find some extra information about how sunshare stores data in this response
@Juggernaut just working on this new UI displaying file hashes associated with each file uploaded into BTFS, tell me what you think
Hi! Thanks for testing sunshare; currently only emails are supported for the alpha release.
SMS and more notification channels will be available in the future
Ok I see, do you know when you will make these available?
Honestly, it was a feature with a low priority on the roadmap.
However, considering how many people from the TRON DAO Forum accessed sunshare from their phones, this is definitely something that should be given a much higher priority.
So, I am planning to add the SMS Notification channel for the production release.
that will be a amazing feature, BUT: what if users will use this option to spam phone numbers with sms ? any plans to avoid that ?
That’s a fair question:
- First, users have to pay to upload a Share on sunshare and the more recipients are added, the more expensive the Share will be. It is impossible to use sunshare to send spam SMS for free.
- On top of that and similarly to emails, the SMS content will be defined by sunshare and will not be editable by users.
- Lastly, the maximum number of recipients per Share is currently 30
I believe these three points makes sunshare a not very interesting way to spam phone numbers with SMS. This is purely theoretical though, some monitoring of the email / SMS usage will definitely help to prevent email / sms abuse.
understand, but you have to agree: I don’t think people will like to receive even sms like “you received a new file” and so on. like annoying email newsletters that are hard to unsubscribe from
