Altcoin, Memecoin Vs Community Competition

GM GM Tronics in the forum.
Trust we all doing alright. All the best to everyone.
After the TOKEN2049 event, I ran into @MustStopMurad Post on X MEMECOIN Parabolic, 2025

After I consumed the information, had to picked up writing tools for this topic. I’m inviting you all let share our Idea and thought on this. LFG

Both altcoin and Memecoin have digital assets characteristics with market structure differences. The following I could deduce as key difference.

  • Purpose
Meme:- driven by viral or social media trends
Altcoin:- serves specific purpose or solved problems

  • Value
Meme:- depends on hype or speculation usually short term.
Altcoin:- have utility with long term vision and backed with tech and development.

  • Risk & Reward
Meme:- greater risk & lambo potential.
Altcoin:- potentially foe long term growth & usages.

  • Product
Meme:- focus on token & community.
Altcoin:- focus on token, community & software (tech).

  • Community
Meme:- driven by quick gain & hype.
Altcoin:- driven by tech & development adoption.

Memecoin Session On Tron
No longer news, initiated by the present like of (TronGuy, CCC …) and not forgetting the Sunpump buzz. Which have giant traction and some amount of volumes from meme traders in and out of the Tron Blockchain.

How about we look at the Meme utilities? If any
Like we all know most of the Meme all believe not to have utility ( before I thought so) but altcoin do have utility in terms of building & development.

But here are the few presumed-utility of memecoin:- should we agreed?

  • Sense of Belonging, this include friendship, fun, charity, entertainment, loneliness reduction. Just imagine a meme super active community where your daily gm GM is been replied to.

  • Jobs this include teamwork experience, being part of team culture, sense of participation and value contributions.

  • Financial hope, mainly means WAGMI from rag to riches mindset and believes.

Now this question about community and why the matter in memecoin
It’s no more news that, when the freshly baked memecoin are actively trading, then we have the attention trading also. Which means the community is the backbone on memes.

This can also means that If most of the community (usually poor or low income) doesn’t get rich from a memecoin, then there is no community.

Same goes to some Airdrops, example Hamster Kombat, which greater part of the community went bitter, because they didn’t get rich from it. Therefore lost most of the community.

Now, let think about it. Is Airdrop really good for community building this days?

But we should not forget that both the altcoin & memecoin have in common is selling the same product. Simply The Token

So finally, Why the community really matter in memecoin
Briefly, the community get super strong when there is

  • Community with positive momentum, authenticity, holder growth rate.

  • The concept of the meme itself:- this includes the message, narrative, excitement trend around the meme

  • Active participation involvement such as community shilling and raiding, community meeting like spaces and fun games.

  • we have the community who have same values, hopes, vision and engagement.

Calling on everyone to share your thoughts :speech_balloon: on this topic. Bring it on. LFG.

Crypto is not a get rich scheme quick but I can make rich the earlier you know the better for you, moreover wether you are bittered from a dusty airdrops or not crypto and airdrops will continue to exist
Therefore I observed that people make money from meme then take profit to have fun and invest IRL instead of investing in altcoins as usual, the narrative is changing this is why am having doubts if there would still be huge altcoins season as usual
Hehe I think am about to cross boundaries from main topic but also Bear in mind that history is no longer repeating

GM buddy, yes o, but it not faster to get rich via memes and way more fastest. Lols to be sent to the villa.

Money and profit (5&6) the bigger them the bigger the doings IRL

About altcoin history repeating. Best we see how it goes.
Either with loaded bags or as watcher mode.

Thank your for your contribution. All the best buddy

You sound correct in what you deduced buddy but I would like to ask what’s the actual difference between memecoins, Alt coins and main coins?
Also since BITCOIN is the mother coin, what is ETH?
Happy Sunday y’all :sparkling_heart:

Hehe nice question buddy let take some glass of water before I proceed, actually Bitcoin is not the mother rather Bitcoin is the father of thems all while ETH is the mother general , Eth is the 2nd coin with the highest mkt capitalisation, Eth give birth to Defi world :earth_americas:
Memecoins was created to have fun and also to make quick cash at the process too, the fun part of it is that it can make you rich in a twinkle of an eye and can render you useless before I could said Jack hehe
Any crypto or tokens that is not Bitcoin are generally described as altcoins
I think I have stop here
We also have some gurus in the forum they can also add some spices to it as well

Thanks for taking your time to answer me buddy but one more question, every other coin apart from Bitcoin is considered Alt coins you said, what place them is ETH since Bitcoin is the father, and ETH is the wife which is the mother ?

You can always have a good community. But what happens when the project team are not meeting up to standards. Sometimes the community can be disappointed when supporting the project with all they got.

Hmm you made good point there.

This boils down to expectations from community.
And clear roadmap or agreement from team.

Example, THE TEAM SAY ITS PROBABLY NOTHING.
Then the community will know they gonna support genuine without setback or bitterness.

Another example.
THE TEAM SAY, WE GOING GIVE THE BIGGEST AIRDROP IN THE WORLD.
The community already having higher expectations from the team, if not met, we have the bitterness and dust.

Just for fun.
Did you know ? DUST ≈ USDT
USDT ≈ DUST

Hehe I think we have arrived to the square root

GM GM, fellow Tronics! :sun_with_face:

Thanks for tagging us on this great topic. Memes vs. Altcoins—it’s like comparing a wild rollercoaster to a slow, steady train. Both have their thrill, but one’s about the adrenaline, and the other’s about the destination. :rocket:

At LFG, we believe memes are evolving beyond just hype—why not have both fun and utility? Community is the heart, and if we can meme our way to better connections, stronger networks, and maybe even to the sun, let’s ride that wave. :ocean: Sure, only a few memes will have utility, but with a strong community backing useful projects, they can only grow stronger.

As for airdrops? Think of them like party favors. :tada: Fun when done right, but if people show up just for the snacks, it can fizzle out quick. The key is creating more engagement, not just relying on “hoping for riches.” This is something we’re still evaluating.

Lastly, many meme projects don’t collaborate because they see others as competition. We want to change that. If you’ve got a good topic, tag us! We’re all about joining the conversation with the community. If TRON meme projects work together, we can all thrive as an entire ecosystem. Keep the convo going, legends! LFG! :boom:

GM GM LFG.
Glad to have you share your thoughts and view on this topic. Sure on next wonderful topic I will tag you.

Yes Memecoin now developing to have utility and gain stronger community.

Second, Airdrop still reliable form of outreach, but to all I still feel.
Engagement activities make the community active and not boring. But not all. Why I said so, most of the engagement driven by rewards, which is very usual.

So what your take on:- IF THE POOR OR LOW INCOME EARNERS IN COMMUNITY DON’T GET RICH IN MEME THEN NO COMMUNITY?

Lols about this, I just Recalled the competition is the community (users). Not just the memecoin, altcoin too.
The competition is everywhere.

Thank you for your contribution.

I am not at all a fan of memecoins. In my opinion 99% memecoins are useless speculative shitcoins. Memecoins teams are nothing but marketing experts. All they know is how to keep their shitcoins in the “trends”. They have literally no utility other than speculations. Memecoins started with Dogecoin which was literally created to teach users about blockchain in fun way. With Shiba Inu some of the worst practices started in crypto space like burning tokens by sending them to the blackhole address to give users hope that price will go up with more “burns”. News flash it will not. Sending tokens to the blackhole adress is not actually decreasing a tokens supply but only making it non accessible. Teams should really re consider sending tokens to the blackhole addresses. They can instead offer their holders rewards for staking or holding.
While most memecoins are useless some have still proven to be worthy by creating real utilities around the token. One example is CCC for sure as they have been delivering with continuous developments. They have successfully bought a significant number of users to TRON without any help from Justin Sun or Tron team. Even before CCC we have some great project who have been building and providing consistently on TRON. To name a few like JustMoney, TronNRG, Turu, UpDawg, USTX.
Would like to repeat that memecoins are nothing but marketing projects. All they know is how to keep it trending and creating hypes with no real value. Their sole purposes is to make the teams rich.

Thank your for your honest view here.
Then I would say not a fan of memecoin then, because I was so scared to lose a dollar in seconds. Over time it changed.

Yes, Not Only memecoin have marketing expertise, even altcoin, Real estate and co.
Usually a trend is enough to gear the narrative of the meme session.

About Burning & Black hole, this will be another topic for another day to jump on. Lols, guess will be another eye :eye: opener and share our idea on how best we understand it.

But not just meme have the burning mechanism, even our Dear Tron with daily burning mechanism too.
I understand that if there’s no demand, purpose or usefulness ( that is utility) then price may not go up

So this question for you:-
Are you against burning in crypto project?

Another is, some memecoin currently are trying best to add utilities which is working out.

Another question for you:-
If a memecoin should have a reasonable tokenomics and with added utilities, can you turn classifieds them as altcoin?

Once again thank you for your wonderful contribution.

TRX burning is different. TRX is the native token for the TRON network. TRX burning is majorly done for TRON network fees. Tron team is not performing any burns.

No I am not against burning. But it has no actual use when it is only being sent to blackhole address.

If memecoin has real utilities it will be useful for all and it can be classified as an altcoin I guess.

Take a look at Sundog when they launched on sunpump they also deployed a “snipper bot” sunbot for trading on sunpump. It made around $1 million in revenue in the first month. But all they did was just burn the tokens with their revenue. To think it could have been much better for the whole community of holders to get rewards for holding instead of sending them to the blackhole address.

I find it ridiculous to send tokens to black hole addresses.

frankly speaking, I think the narrative has changed a lot. Or they sold to us a different thing whiles hiding the real thing. If you have been in crypto for a longer period, there were some times all you hear is “we are in for the tech” so these time memecoins were created for fun. Let’s see the early days of dogecoin, personally i was using it to play. Send to my friends and others. But when we came to the era of “I am in for money” everything changed. :joy: :joy: These same influencers started shilling memecoins. We all know how doge started pumping

Another wonderful contribution bro. This is getting interesting.

Still on burning, your example with sundog is clear.
My concern is what about the liquidity provision if the allocation is to be burnt is given back to the community which they would like to stake, sell or others .
Because it not about holding a memecoin or coin, without liquidity it like just set of numbers In your wallet.

(Please correct me if my undies is not that deep)

Take a look at this angel.

From this picture, after A particular project airdrop.
There was some unclaimed and there was this proposal.
So for you which is best?

Because I still feel if the unclaimed is without liquidity then it no use.
I’m open to correction. Lols
