Project Overview

Project Goal:

Croin facilitates trade financing and conditional payment. It has use cases in everyday commerce and it’s a web3 alternative to banking.

Croin aims to facilitate a generic tool for web3 that can yield a Boolean output based on inputs from two users/parties. A user (say, creditor) can place certain terms (in common English) against another user (say, debitor). Within a timeframe, if the debitor fulfills the terms, then certain amount is transferred to debitor. Else, it is transferred to the creditor. Such logic manifesting Boolean output can be used by various web3 projects. This would offer an oracle-like functionality for user inputs.

A straightforward use-case of Croin is in trade financing, where conditional payments between two users can be facilitated.

Another use case is NFT verification/validation. There are total 6 use cases we identified (elaborated on our website).

Please consider the whitepaper for complete details.

Unique Value Proposition:

Croin shall bring thousands of non-crypto users on Tron ecosystem with significant transaction volume. Our use case of trade financing & project safeguarding encourages the business players (importers, exporters, service providers, service consumers etc.) to use CR (TRC-20) & TRX as the mode of payment for their business activities. Most of these players are outside the crypto community today. Croin will onboard them on Tron with the regular business volume. In 2024, trade financing alone had 9.7 trillion USD market, Croin shall bring at least 1% on this (~100 billion USD) transaction volume on Tron. Current trade financing is done by banks at 1-2% fees, Croin offers same at 0.5% fees along with faster execution, anonymity & easy access.

Technical & Governance Details

Project Test Instructions:

  1. Ensure installation of Tronlink browser extension (on desktop), or browse through Tronlink mobile wallet.
  2. Navigate to croin.org. Once Tronlink is unlocked & connected, click on login. It will fetch your Tron address.
  3. Accredits page facilitates credit generation, tracking and inquiry. Determine page facilitates voting on a credit (for user role of Trustee). Settle page facilitates chat between the creditor, debitor & trustees. Actuate page facilitates settlement of a credit (for user role of Trustee). Check page facilitates some insights on the affairs.
  4. You shall need the CR tokens. Please email at admin@croin.org mentioning your Tron address to get the tokens or relevant user roles for testing. Please add the word TBL in subject line.

Technical Details:

  • Frontend: React
  • Backend: Node.js with firebase,
  • Trust layer on Tron
  • For the boolean output use case, we shall provide exclusive API endpoints for the secondary dApps.

First contract (Nile testnet) : Primitive contract

Live contract (mainnet): Optimised contract

How is the Project Governed?:

There are only few aspects of the project governance those are executed through a user role of admin. The aspects are changes in fees (currently 0.5%), fee distribution ratio (among the trustees, tickers & admin), & sanctioning or revoking user roles. Currently all this is done in centralized manner. But we can make it democratic by voting among the trustees & tickers, once the trustees & tickers increase in number.

Funding & Business Model

Funding Request:

We request funding of 60,000 USDT with breakdown as follow:

Liquidity on SunSwap : 50,000 USDT

Launchpad fees for more IDO (optional): 10,000 USDT

Why we need the funding?

We went to deploy the project as the complete bootstrapped without any private sales or VC. In fact, we raised ~1,75,000 USDT through IDO on Siriuspad & torkpad. We listed on Sunswap on mid August to offer the TGE against the IDO. But unfortunately, we got arbitrage attack within 1 hours we created the liquidity pools. We had created the V3 liquidity pool for TGE. But newly launched token wasn’t visible on SunSwap for the swapping. Thus we created a small V2 liquidity pool for just the signaling purpose. This solved the issue & CR became swappable. But the two (one V2 & one V3) liquidity pools offered opportunity for arbitrage bot and it drained the liquidity. Thus we halted & postponed the TGE. We need the external funding in such tragic scenario. We tried to do a VC raise in last few months, but most of then seek a CeX listing first. Thus, now we hope, TBL would help us to get out of the stuck situation. We still have the IDO raise intact and can get it after TGE, and use the IDO fund for subsequent marketing & CeX listings.

Revenue Model:

Croin charges fee of 0.5% on the conditional transactions. Out of these fee ~80% goes to trustees & 14% to tickers. The project keeps 6%, which would be revenue to sustain the operations. Operations include dApp & backend hosting, & the functional execution from admin account. Most of the execution including credit (i.e. conditional payment) generation, settlement, transactions etc. happen without the admin involvement. Hence the project is sustainable with the minimal fees.

Interested in TRON Having a Stake?:

Yes. Most of the funding is to be used for the liquidity provision. Such liquidity can be provided through Tron’s delegated address so that there is a stake against the funding. Alternatively, we will be glad to offer equivalent CR tokens.

Apart from this, there is no scope for stakes as the project runs entirely through smart contract.

Preferred Collaboration Method:

Most of the development and commercial activities are done by us, and we are stuck at TGE. We seek Tron (or the DAO’s) help to help the TGE by providing/funding for the DeX liquidity.

Croin offers Boolean output based on general inputs. Many secondary dApps can be developed with this feature. We look forward to enagage with Tron DAO to build such dApps on top of Croin.

We look forward for AMAs & mutual outreach with fellow projects on Tron.

We would like to receive further liquidity from the Tron DAO community. For certain USDT/TRX contributed for liquidity against CR, we would incentivize with ~20% worth CR to the Tron address. We have 8% of total supply dedicated for liquidity incentive.

Ecosystem Impact

Partnerships:

Launchpads (for IDO):

  1. SiriusPad
  2. TorkPad
  3. KingdomStarter

Additionally, we have finalized the partnerships (but not signed agreements) with additional launchpads including Sporesnetwork, Trustfi, & Welabs.

We had AMA partnerships with some communities including:

  • Crypto Detector,
  • Crypto Neon,
  • MetaLap,
  • BRISK,
  • Crypto Wolves,
  • TalkzLabs,
  • WaterMalones

We are listed on CoinGecko, and submitted a token at Coin Market Cap.

Time on TRON:

On testnet: since August 2024

On mainnet: since December 2024

Another mark is to reach 1 million credits in 5 years.

Also, we envisage >4 secondary dApps on top of Croin (e.g. insurance settlement, NFT validation, KYC tokens etc.)

Tokenomics:

We have unconventional tokenomics: where significant tokens are allotted in various pools to onboard the business users & encourage their traction for several years.

Welcome to TBL, I read your whole offering and I’m just wondering, why does the admin still control fees and user roles if this is meant to be decentralized?

Thanks.
The users need specific expertise to derive the yes/no decision based on the terms. Hence we need a central liability to guarantee such expertise. Hence admin controls the user roles. At a mature stage, we can have a DAO but till first 1000 credits, we think central power would accelerate the execution.

Likewise the fees (& the fee distribution ratio) is designed to be variable. These parameters would be constant for prolonged time, but we have made provision to alter then in case of sustainability issues.

By ‘decentralized‘ we mean that states, events & parameters of the credit are openly accessible and can’t be changed by any authority. Admin can’t change the decision on credit, it’s controlled by the smart contract & by the trustees.

Thanks, all clear. But, what’s the process involved in trustees selection?

Interested Tron users can fill the trustee application. Skills of perfect linguistic (English understanding, rational & reasoning are ensured through a test. If skillful, the address is added as trustee.

Also specific trustee belongs to specific ballotin. And ballotins are specialized for certain domains e.g. international trade/commerce, service projects, construction projects etc. If user demonstrates expertise in such domains, corresponding ballotin is allotted.

Thanks for the response, I’m all clear now.
