We plan to register our company in a token-friendly jurisdiction (say BVI or Cayman) and issue asset-backed-tokens proportionate to the value of the real estate assets we buy. “Distressed” real estate assets could be renovated and sold for a profit while appreciating real estate assets could be held for long time and rented out. As we keep buying and selling these assets, the value of the tokens will keep appreciating. Whenever these assets are rented out, the rental income will be distributed to the token holders (This is a low margin activity and will be taken up only after the main project becomes a commercial success).
You are already participating in the hackaTRON. Best will be first to compete in this hackathon first before starting looking for grants from TRON. At least finish what you have already started first. This hackaTRON could be your way forward.

How will we secure real estate ownership without local registries, and how will a custodian protect token holders? @snair2001
In the absence of local registries, our company will have to buy out the asset or at least get hold of the documentation of ownership so that the ownership is not transferred without the knowledge of the token holders.
A custodian is accredited by the governments who is authorized to keep safe custody of the documentation of ownership.

Once we build up an investor base wide enough, we will approach big-ticket projects. Ultimately our tokens will work similar to a Real Estate Investment Trust (which will be immune to the ups and downs of particular Real estate markets, just like a mutual fund). Once we are financially stable, we can afford to take bigger risks such as distressed projects which can be salvaged and flipped. The ultimate aim is to finance Billion-dollar projects with high margins. We will use this diversity to scale our platform from the ground to Unicorn status by becoming the Kickstarter for Real-Estate projects all over the world.

In the conventional way, potential homeowners have to come up with a large upfront payment to buy their first home. This reduces the number of potential buyers and also there is a cap on what can be bought. Liquidity is also affected due to indivisibility of these properties and the smaller pool of buyers.
In our solution, properties can be divided into very small units called tokens. They are divisible and could trade in a way similar to crypto currencies. These steps will lower the barrier to entry for retail buyers.
