Thoughts | Tron's Publishing Hub

Thank you for sharing. I am reviewing this project by looking at the project website, the video and introduction.

This project is creating token gating for reading articles and an online reader. This supports the creator economy for articles.

I like how there are author pages, article pages, good formatting and reasonable features that are necessary for this kind of publishing project.

Looking good so far keep it up!

Are there any specific features or tools in place to ensure that creators’ voices remain authentic and unfiltered?

How are you planning to implement which posts will be shown earlier to a user, and how are you stopping users from gaming the system

Hi @fabsltsa, Apologies for the late reply. You make a valid point, and we appreciate your input. While we strive to uphold free expression, responsible content moderation is crucial to ensure a safe and inclusive environment. The AI’s role is indeed to filter out harmful content while being mindful of context. We’ll establish clear guidelines on acceptable content and work to strike a balance between promoting free speech and adhering to community standards and legal regulations. Your advice on the messaging is well-noted, and we’ll consider a more accurate representation of our approach. Thank you for your thoughtful feedback! :+1::handshake:

This is a question widely asked to us now. Briefly, we plan to tackle content moderation challenges through a decentralized community-driven approach. Along with some AI based content labelling, users will have the ability to report and flag content they find inappropriate. The community, along with smart contract-based mechanisms, will be able to take down the reported articles. While we aim to preserve free expression, we’ll implement safeguards to maintain a balance between decentralization and responsible content management.

Thanks for taking this in consideration :pray:t2: keep building!

Welcome to hackaTRONs5 ! Thoughts looks like a decent decentralized social platform on Tron Blockchain. I have the same question for you which I have asked to the team of Blockto as well, what is the reason behind using IPFS instead of BTFS? Am I missing something here? To my knowledge both of them do the same job, right?

I tested the app

Apart from image not loading:

The exit button does not work.

The other functionality which are minimalistics lacks a menu navigations… seems to work.

Thanks,
onchaindev :white_heart:

The images load from IPFS, which causes some delay. When we move to production, we plan to use dedicated IPFS gateways to fetch images more quickly. We’ve taken note of your feedback. We appreciate your input, and we’re continuously working to enhance the UX flows. Thank you for testing it.

Thought indeed aims to be a one stop social profile for Tron Blockchain users. In regard to your question about why we chose to use IPFS instead of BTFS, it’s primarily because of our background with Ethereum, where IPFS is commonly used. We were more acquainted with IPFS and had prior experience with it, which led to our initial choice.

However, we do appreciate your mention of BTFS, and we’ll certainly explore it further. As we move forward into the production phase, we will consider incorporating BTFS into our platform. Your input is valuable, and we’re always open to embracing and supporting the Tron-supported ecosystems. Thank you for raising this question.

:rocket: Exciting Update: Thoughts Launches on Mainnet with Enhanced Features! :globe_with_meridians:

We’re thrilled to announce that Thoughts has officially gone live on the mainnet, marking a significant milestone in our journey!

Here’s our mainnet smart contract - TRONSCAN | TRON BlockChain Explorer | 波场区块链浏览器
and you can visit our platform on Thoughts.

:star2: New Features Unveiled

With great enthusiasm, we introduce two pivotal updates to our smart contracts:

  1. Stable Coin Purchases: We’ve integrated support into our smart contracts, enabling creators to publish editions that accept payments in stable coins. Stay tuned as these updates seamlessly integrate into our web app, ensuring smoother transactions for creators and users alike.

  2. Edition Blacklisting: Introducing support into our smart contracts to allow the removal of reported editions from our platform, enhancing the quality and reliability of content.

:link: Growing Community Engagement

We urge our community to join and follow our channels on Thoughts - @thoughts.discover & @thoughts to stay updated with our journey. Additionally, we’re soon unveiling our official development thoughts account, documenting our progress as we further build and innovate Thoughts.

:chart_with_upwards_trend: Future Plans

Our vision is ambitious and inclusive, seeking to welcome mainstream audiences onto Thoughts. In our recent intensive brainstorming sessions over the past some weeks, we’ve identified significant obstacles in onboarding mainstream creators, the two most important of them being - the necessity to pay gas fees for publishing editions and the unfamiliarity of web3 wallets among web2 audiences.

While simultaneously providing updates on the current version to address the previously mentioned challenges, we’ve embarked on developing a V2 version, focusing on:

  • Optimized Smart Contracts: We aim to streamline smart contracts, reducing fees for creators significantly. Additionally, we’re exploring custodial walletless flows and implementing a sponsorship model for edition creation, alleviating the financial burden on creators.
  • Walletless Onboarding: We’re actively exploring walletless possibilities to streamline the onboarding process for web2 audiences, ensuring a more accessible platform for all.
  • AI Integration: Enhancing content creation with cutting-edge AI technologies.

Our commitment doesn’t end here. We’re dedicated to:

  • Collaborating with dApps for wider community engagement.
  • Introducing features like Co-author support & author subscriptions.
  • Expanding user profiles beyond blogs, including real-time updates on Tron network events and social interactions for a comprehensive user experience.

:moneybag: Investing in Growth

Winning the Tron hackathon has empowered us to use the allocated prize money to further develop the V2 version. These funds will also contribute to improving our current version, including hiring a part-time UI designer to enhance the platform’s user experience.

:trophy: Success at Tron Hackathon

We’re humbled and honored to have emerged victorious at the Tron hackathon! Thoughts, our decentralized blogging platform built on Tron, received recognition, motivating us to push boundaries and innovate continuously. Stay tuned as we embark on this exciting journey together :rocket::sparkles:.
