The idea is super cool .But may i ask how old this project is?
Hi Youngyuppie,
Thank you for asking a very good question.
We know VPN, Tor, these extraordinary privacy enhancement tools, the weakness is that are centralized and do not use a decentralized incentive mechanism. However, decentralized dVPN, MYN, etc. continue to play “cat and mouse games” and cannot fundamentally solve privacy issues.
CONET uses traffic obfuscation technology to make CONET’s network communications “invisible”. And erased all metadata at the network layer. This ensures CONET total anonymity and privacy while enabling universal access.
CONET’s bandwidth participants, they are more like decentralized cloud service providers. In order to avoid the increase in costs caused by the proof of work(PoW) that exists in all decentralized clouds, it is impossible to compete with centralized cloud services in terms of price.
CONET has established a free market mechanism to allow users to negotiate directly with service providers. Service providers have the freedom to set prices, and users have the freedom to choose merchants when user cannot get the service quality promised by the merchant.
Thank you maaz.
CONET has been 5 years since its inception, but it has only been more than a year since it moved to the blockchain.
That was so detailed and hit all the points. Thank you for providing such information about the CONET project. From the response you gave to @maaz that the project has been more than a year it moved to blockchain, do you mind telling us which network it was launched on during the early days and the challenges you have faced (if any).
Hi Youngyuppie, thank you so much for your reply.
We were incubated by AVAX Lab in the early days, and they gave us great help in establishing the decentralized idea of CONET, so we used AVAX’s subnet to build our L1 testnet.
Due to the well-known downturn in the crypto market, we were not able to secure further support from AVAX.
So far, the development of CONET has used up all my funds.
We started angel round 500K USD financing two months ago and it has not been completed yet until today. This is the CONET’s biggest challenge.
Greetings @CONET ! Your project seems to have all the details. Thank you! *beep boop
Hi @CONET
I had a question in regards to how CONET plans to integrate with existing web applications and protocols?
Are there any specific considerations for developers looking to incorporate CONET into their projects, and what are the potential security and privacy risks associated with integration?
Hi EMerchant, thanks for your question.
The risks of CONET is:
-
The relay nodes that customers used is collude with each other, client has the risk of deanonymized.
-
Through the payment history on the chain, the Relay node used by the customer can be traced to de-anonymize it.
CONET’s second infrastructure is used to solve that problem. it will high-throughput and high-speed anonymous transfers. -
Limited participants, few resources available can to be users, inferior to existing privacy solutions.
By the way, let’s demonstrate the VPN APP developed using CONET Privacy Network,
As an open source development template, developers can integrate it as their own APP by simply forking it.
The difference from the existing VPN industry is:
-
Customers do not need to log in, completely anonymous.
-
The client has no IP address, and the proxy nodes cannot obtain where the user comes from, achieving user privacy protection through network layer technology.
-
The client can use multiple proxies at the same time indefinitely, and the data packets are fragmented, making it impossible for the reviewer to splice them together.
-
CONET traffic obfuscation technology, the data is completely invisible.
It’s great to hear that AVAX Lab provided you with the necessary support during the early days of establishing the decentralized idea of CONET. However, it is unfortunate to hear that you were not able to secure further support from them.
Securing funding can be challenging, but it is a crucial step in the growth and success of any startup. It’s important to remain persistent in your efforts just as you’ve being with your angel round financing.
Wishing you the best!
Hi Youngyuppi,
Thanks for your your encouraging words.
Yes, our team come together is for the belief. This is why we can persevere despite so many difficulties.
Do you get it now @fabsltsa
CONET Proxy have a alpha version (Windows & Docker) for test, welcome to try it and feedback.
CONET launched the testnet block explorer.
