Oh yeah, it is absolutely common, the uncommon thing there would be misrepresentation of belief, customs and values, and most importantly misinformation. Then such a piece would be flagged or banned :prohibited:

This is legendary ! This just boosted my motivation by a factor of magnitude !

Early last year, I started thinking really hard about how I could bring internationalization into the Library - while living in a place of significance in Australia, where there is a giant paradox in legal, cultural and spiritual laws: A small town where the Australian constitution got written, with no treaty with the original people living there. The Australian constitution specifies that there was nobody living there, so they claimed the land as their own… Of course, it was an obvious lie (and still is) - and although I am not wishing to do any politics, it raises the problem
of legality, and what a legal border is.

is it a geographical border? A state border? A cultural border, or a religious one?

When it comes to the Law, which one must I respect the most? Because of the paradox in which I am living - it forced me to really find a way that adapts to the current situation.

After several months of thinking and experimentation with some data structure to represent that path of though, I came up with the conclusion that the only border we, as common people, share all, is language.

I came to understand that Language represents a culture more than a nation. And that two countries who share the same language, no matter how far apart they are from each others, share the same cultural codes, similar spirituality, and common understanding of the world.

But then, I have to respect the national court of justice of every country - which is a mandatory condition to have the Library survive time & generations.

Let’s take an example of two countries where a % of the population speaks the same language:

For example, 100% of country A speaks language abcd, and 10% of country B speaks abcd, and 90% speaks xyz.
Now I have a book written in abcd that is available in both countries.
But country B department of justice wants the book removed because of some reason (which I am forbidden to have any opinion on ). Not removing the book - means the Library would break the law in B - which would threaten the integrity of the Library long term. The direct consequence is a knowledge division in the abcd community.

One of the solution I came up with is that I could technically remove the translation in xyz in country B, and keep the abcd version.
Only those speaking abcd would be able to access that knowledge.

Some countries don’t recognize copyright laws, while many others do. What if I am culturally from a place that doesn’t recognize copyright laws while physically living in a place that does ?

I believe that one way of addressing this issue is to only take into account the concept of Language as a place of residence. This could only work if media don’t get translated.

Another solution is to design an interface where all legal representatives of countries involved in a spoken Language get to vote and decide together if a book gets published in the Library - and the countries refusing to be part of it - don’t get to have an access to the Library.

I might have to rewrite this post several time, because this is a complex subject, and could be a book of its own.

I understand your confusion, if they got it all messed up and misconstrued and left you with a lot of questions like this, it’s a testament to the fact that legality is and has always been a construct of the rich, that is an opinion I hold dear, over the years.

You’re not alone, it seems… :innocent: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6zsv93CCBI

To succeed and survive, the common Library must unite and be ok in all planes of legality I believe.

This is why the D-Licence can be a solution that unite all legal systems alongside the D-Safe Label using trust. Everyone can be DME.

I felt it even tho that particular YouTube video had caption off, music is the closest thing we humans have that transcends time and is more or less like time travel, thanks for sharing.

I forgot about this, here is the translation.

This song is so old, I remember listening to it 23 years ago !

But getting back to the LIbrary, it is very important that it unites - without risk. This is why History ( and by extension, geography ) - are topics that are strictly forbidden to store in the index.

This song reminds us that we belong to a deal that we have no control off.

Because the D-Safe label must also be safe for Adults, let’s focus on what really unites us instead. And one common knowledge, is that we all belong to earth. Earth doesn’t belong to anyone - in fact - we either end up worm food when buried, plant food when burned, or a big **** when eaten… meanwhile Earth will still be there for the next generation.

Taking care of Earth by restoring its balance, ecosystem, rivers and beauty is a solid philosophy for everyone’s present and future family - no matter which religion, continent, culture they are part of.

For all those powerful men, women, states and corporations described in this song - who have been making deals behind our back - Let’s take the necessary steps so they never mind the Library’s existence and progress.

So they can let it be, and let their kids see value in it too.

What I can deduce from this is; I envision the library being some sort of an archive where historical works that are like time pieces would be stored, that may be tedious in terms of the legal procedures attached to clearance.

Yes, sort off. Or smart life hacks, such as this one: grow 300 onions in a small basket

How is this even possible to grow that much onion :onion: in a basket :basket:
Just maybe I’m not informed enough, I thought that was only possible in the fields, as Burkina Faso is one of the biggest onion :onion: producing countries, watched that few hours ago, the harvesting and all, planting is really therapeutic.

Ahah, I don’t know if this is possible at all ! And that is the whole point.

1 - Maybe the bottle in the middle is filled up with special nutrient. And all they do is harvest the green.
2 - Maybe it looks good on the picture - this is a click bait, and they all die after 2 weeks…

How do we know for sure - but by trying it ourself ?
Onions and garlic are good to keep insects away, maybe that the whole point of the basket… I don’t know, I just saw that on my facebook feed.

One way to know is to design a Library, and get people to try it themself, and have them giving reviews, or just simple voting.

Over time, the media that have good quality will be ranked better than the hoaxes…

Talking reviews, i hope to add support for voice recording, an evolution to allow user to record their voice for feedback, creating a circle-like a podcast, only opened for those who have passed a level through reading content.

I know I am jumping from one concept to another, and it can seem confusing. Books, then Voice?

I want to make sure those who are allowed to record their voice are serious about reading first, which would filter trolls.

The D-Voice system I have had in mind for several years is related to the talking stick method, where a user would have to listen first before talking.
Instead of repeating what someone has already formulated, they can vote up (or down) a voice contribution. And only those keeping a score high enough would be allowed to record again.

Coming back to the topic of history. The reason why I cannot allow history books is because anyone can write anything stupid. Most history books have been written and promoted for nationalism, which brings more division, than anything else… Take Pythagore, for example, the Greek who “invented” the famous triangle, after having studied 15 years in Egypt. I’d be surprised that those big pyramid got built without prior knowledge of that mathematical rule thousands of year prior his birth - so old that they forgot the real name of the inventor - maybe the Greeks at the time wanted to look more intelligent than they actually were… History brings division. Just looking at Australia’s history, and the narrative that “Australian history books” propagate on the original people from this land: 95% of it is pure lie and insulting, including the name they gave them.

The content has to be legally free to distribute and copy.

Yes and no. Once verified, it stays there.
When pending verification, it will get put in a pool for community verification first.
When verified by the community, it can only be removed from the index following a court order. This is why I also want to design an interface only to facilitate the justice department interaction with the content. this way, it stays legal on all planes - and some version may differ based on the geographical location (legal borders) - some books may be considered stolen (or illegal) in a state, but not in another.

if you access the contributor mode, you can already mark a book (or a topic) as D-Unsafe, and when you sync your changes on the blockchain, it counts as a vote.

For example, anything related to medical advice and plant medicine is not allowed.

1 - I don’t want to be hold responsible if anything poisonous is published in there
2 - I also don’t want the library builder (me) to get terminated by a greedy corporation - because the cure for many cancer is as easy as eating a specific type of food anyone can grow in their garden
3 - I also want to respect all communities, even those who I disagree with. When a state decides to prioritize chemical medicine over plant medicine ( EU and USA for example ) and make any herborist school illegal - I have to respect their choices. They have voted for it.
4 - Library are usually tied up with a school. I will be more than happy to build a dedicated private version for herborist schools - when it is considered legal. But right now, I want to build the common trunk of knowledge first.

The original version got some mistake in it, and those who fix the mistakes properly will graduate faster.

Another important fact: I am not an expert in any of the topics listed in the Library. I am an IT expert, and all I want to do is be part of the construction of the building. I am by no mean interested to claim which books belong in it, or not.

I’m actually pretty big on spices, I love my food properly spiced, that way it helps with the right amount of nutrients I need to keep healthy, I read alot of spices need constant detox so I consistently detox with green tea and lemon grass, a little lemon and lime sometimes.

Oh wow, how then do you scout for the topics to include? And do you outrightly need to seek for a 3rd party’s help? In a case where people make further inquiries into the content of these topics.

I downloaded a lot of content from https://the-eye.eu/ about 4 years ago, before it was taken down. Now that content is gone.

Into it, there was a lot of disgusting (and very illegal) content, mixed with very good books.

So I removed most of the bad stuff. It was already well organized into topics and subtopics, I re-organized it a bit myself, but I haven’t spent much time on it since then.

I am hoping that when the Library looks great enough, someone will step in with a great collection of books, and ask me how to add them in the index.

There are many methodology that can be though of to automatically assess if someone is knowledgeable enough to suggest new content:

1: Existing authors:
Create an address book of all the existing authors of the Library, and contact them directly.
Then give them a special Key, that allows them to directly upload content in the moderation pool,

2: Leveling & D-Voice

It is possible to assess a user’s level looking at the activity and votes. And after they successfully participate to a D-Voice circle, they would earn that super key.

3: Common sense:

Does the content of this book is potentially dangerous for children, adults or plants?

is anything in this books against the D-Safe classification ? ( this could be preprocessed with AI )

4: Algorithmically assess a user’s ethical mind

After the AI assess if it is DSafe - we can also get the user to validate the new suggestions.

One such example would be to get users to validate new suggestions.
For example, after a user marks a book as D-Safe, when it is in fact not DSafe - that would be a red flag that this actor should not be trusted.

5: Human team making a video/audio documentary

Another way would be trough location specific donations to finance a team to recruit public experts in each of those topics

6: Virtual Autonomous classrooms:

Another scenario would be to create virtual classrooms, where students would group graduate when they assess each others book suggestions - which ultimately gets validated by a senior member of the Library.

There are so many ways.

I believe common sense is number 1.

When an actor proves he got common sense, he can participate to a group D-Voice circle.

The filtration process when it comes to content that gets put out there is a very relevant thing to do, cos same content that might be appealing to a region maybe offensive to the next region.
