HabiTron - Building Better Habits, Block by Block

Project Name: HabiTron
Project Track: Web3
Team Name: HabiTron
Team Member(s): 2 members ↔ @ZenMystic @ValentinoLau
DevPost Project Link: HabiTron | Devpost

Project Goal: HabiTron empowers users to track their daily habits, manage to-do lists, and nurture a virtual garden, all secured and stored on the BTTC blockchain. Our mission is to create a tool that makes users’ lives more productive while ensuring their data remains decentralized and under their control.

Project Value: HabiTron takes habit tracking and task management to the next level by utilizing the BTTC blockchain. Users’ habit progress, to-do tasks, and garden data are securely saved on-chain, giving them full ownership of their personal productivity records without relying on centralized systems. By combining blockchain technology with gamification, HabiTron keeps users motivated to achieve their goals & sustain their habits.

What are the key benefits of using the Monthly Tracks and To-Do List sections in the project, and how do they enhance the user’s experience on the BTTC Mainnet?

The fastest question ever

We can answer it by these 2 main criteria:

  • Low-Cost Efficiency: BTTC’s low transaction fees allow users to save and retrieve data frequently without worrying about high costs, making habit tracking seamless and affordable.
  • Immutable Record-Keeping: By using the blockchain, users have an unchangeable history of their habits and tasks. With the help of it, we can provide a data of user from previous months/years to them as they wish.

Welcome to season 7
After reading your project what excite me more is the integration of a virtual garden as a gamification element is particularly innovative, making it more engaging for users. I have a few question

  • How are you going to address potential privacy concerns associated with storing users data on the Blockchain.

Welcome to Grand hackathon S7
How can someone’s habit be tracked, do you have an app or are you building on an app where one can track his or her habits ?
This virtual garden can it be like a game :video_game: if not I would like more clarity on that aspect, thank you

Welcome to the hackathon season 7, I understand that your project aim to record the activities of the users on-chain. My question on this approach is:

What steps you will take to ensure that users personal productivity data remains safe and private on the blockchain?

How do you store garden visuals and user habit history on BTTC? Are they on-chain or off-chain (like IPFS)?

Hello @Okorie, @Chukseucharia

Just 'cause questions are similar, it’d be better to answer together:

We understand the concerns about storing data on the blockchain. While we don’t store personal information, we use the blockchain to ensure that users have full control over their data in a secure, decentralized environment. This provides transparency and prevents tampering, unlike traditional centralized systems where data could be exposed to third parties. By using wallet addresses to manage habit tracking and to-do lists, users remain anonymous, and the data they store is only accessible to them.

In short, although users’ habits and to-do list items exist in a chain, their personal information will be always anonymous.

Hey, thank you @Nweke-nature1.com

To track habits, users can simply visit our HabiTron platform through any web browser, where they connect their MetaMask wallet and access the habit tracker.
The virtual garden isn’t a game, but it gamifies the habit-tracking experience. As users complete their daily habits, plants in their garden grow, making progress visible and engaging while adding a fun, interactive element to staying consistent.
(We are considering releasing our website tonight. You will have the opportunity to test and rate it )

Hey @JOHNY, we store the core habit data (like habit progress and growth stages of the garden) directly on-chain via BTTC smart contracts. However, the visual elements such as images for the garden and plants are stored off-chain to optimize performance and cost, using external storage solutions like IPFS.

If you have more questions, we are here to answer.

What steps should I follow to connect my MetaMask to the BTTC Mainnet smoothly?
Are there any limitations or specific features for managing tasks in the To-Do List section?

Tonight we are planning to publish the website, it will guide you. Using it is simple and user-friendly.

For To-Do list, you are free to whatever you want, no limits. For monthly part, we put 8 habits maximum for now to test it. Later we’ll improve that limit as well.

After undergoing your Project Value, test instructions and details I will like you to clarify me with this few questions of mine.

  • Regarding data ownership how are you going to handle such kind of situation of compromised wallets or dispute.

  • Can you explain more on the specific reward system within the HabiTron.

We mean any compromised wallets would only affect access to that data, not the integrity of the data itself. Regarding rewards, HabiTron currently uses gamification through a virtual garden where users’ habit completion fosters plant growth, motivating consistent engagement, with potential future updates introducing personalized achievements.

We already completed our submission in both devpost and tron dao forum, you can now try it from the links.

Welcome to Hackathon Season 7, without further ado you strike me like a regular from previous Hackathons, correct me if I’m wrong. Now moving forward, I see this aims to enhance personal productivity through habit tracking and task management, utilizing blockchain technology for data security and ownership.
How will the you ensure that the gamification elements remain engaging over time?
