Hiya Tronics! Itā€™s fantastic to see we have a lot more community engagement and thoughtful discussions for this hackathon season.

We noticed a couple of topics that the TronLive team can give input on which might be helpful for some community members here.

  1. Hard to reach requirement to vote
We noticed a few users stating it is hard to reach the required level to vote, and some users even took weeks or months of effort but couldnā€™t vote yet. First of all, ask yourself if you are really using the forum properly, or if you registered an account a while ago, checked out a few projects, and are confident enough to cast your vote. The voting requirements are enforced to prevent bot and spam voting. However, if you are using the forum genuinely, read about and understood what most of the hackathon projects are about, and have true engagement with the community, it really shouldnā€™t take many hours. Tips for new users - check out more topics, check out more projects, give likes to posts you enjoyed, participate in the discussion genuinely and you will be allowed to vote in no time.

  2. Fairness of new projects vs old projects
Life will never be perfectly fair, and so are any Hackathon rules that TRON DAO enforced now or in the future. However, the TRON DAO team tried to be as fair as possible and allow projects that participate in the TRON/BTTC ecosystem to join this hackathon, and keep projects that simply cloned existing projects without much effort out. The starting line will never be the same for every participant. However, new hackathon project participants can make extra effort to interact with other community members on here, get more people to understand their projects, and possibly be one of the top winners at the finishing line. Itā€™s not a simple old vs new comparison, ā€œnewā€ members that participated in this Hackathon Season 2 will become ā€œoldā€ members by Hackathon Season 3, and we will have the same problem all over again.
Also, note that the judges will not score based on whether a project has an established community or how long the project has been developed. The judges will be voting on criteria such as the projectā€™s originality & creativity, technicality & design, business model & feasibility, usability, practicality and its contribution to the crypto ecosystem.
It is not ideal to restrict existing projects (even past winners) from participating as they are truly building something on TRON/BTTC ecosystem. Hence, we required all past participants to submit a new project or an existing project that has made significant improvements compared to the last submission. Therefore, one way or the other, we as a community will benefit from the development these projects brought to our ecosystem.
Having this said, we should also show support and welcome new projects. We urged users to check out all hackathon projects, including new projects so you get an idea of what each project is building so you can cast a fair vote!

  3. Fairness of community voting
Please be reminded that in Hackthon Season 1, the judges have 60% of the voting power and the community has 40% of the voting power. Both votes were combined to reach the final score for hackathon participants. Therefore, the community votes may affect the final hackathon winners selection. We heard your feedback so TRON DAO split the hackathon prize into 2 prize pools - DevPost and TRON DAO Forum, and letā€™s also not forget that the total hackathon prize pool has increased from $500K to $1 Million!
    For this hackathon:
ā€“ The judges will be voting on the DevPost platform and the DevPost TRON Hackathon winners will be selected solely based on the average scores of all judges.
ā€“ The TRON DAO Forum community members will be voting and selecting a separate set of Forum Hackathon winners here.
Since we all seemed to agree that the judges will do a fairer vote, it should be a relief as the judges will be responsible for distributing >75% of the hackathon prize pool. We as the community will also have a say and pick winners that truly care about the community and are also building something great as well. Therefore, go check out all the forum hackathon projects closely and make sure to exercise your voting rights properly. You may show your support to 20 amazing hackathon projects this time so vote wisely and help them grow!

Finally, we want to thank you all for speaking up and showing support all along. The few heated discussions here showed that you do really care about this hackathon and are willing to share your feedback and help TRON/BTTC foster. So, we are most likely to open up new discussion topics on our community $5K bonus prize topic soon so we can all contribute to how to make further improvements to the next hackathon. Stay tuned!

That was a long ass message :joy:
But it was very well written, so thank you a lot for that.
Itā€™s never easy and I think itā€™s fair to say that you never can satisfy each and everyone.
That been said: great work!
H1 was already amazing and H2 has become even better.
For me personally it feels like we are finally going into the right direction after all those years. Tron is becoming professionall and new members can feel that for sure!

Keep it up folks :muscle::muscle::muscle:

More great projects means more users, more users will translate into super great adoption and great adoption will culminate into tron blockchain being one of a kind. Very soon tron will be too hot to touch. Fire in the holeā€¦

Hackathon is a good place for all participants (old and new) to increase visibility and to promote the projects.

And yes it is not a secret - community plays an important roll in crypto space and it is not forbidden to use the community support.

Like in real life the party with most supporters usually wins.

And btw I give my votes to projects I personally like and it does not matter if these projects are new or old ā€¦

I wish all participants good luck!!!
