HYAPE PARTY - Unleash Your Inner Ape in the Ultimate 3D Multiplayer Showdown on ERC-404 Terrain!

DND-404 is an upgraded version of the ERC-404 standard. It operates similarly to ERC-721 but with enhanced liquidity features, allowing users to convert NFTs into ERC-20 tokens. This flexibility enables owners to trade or sell their assets more easily while retaining the benefits of NFT ownership. Every NFT token-id is unique different from each other and only has a single owner

ERC-1155 is a multi-token standard that supports both fungible and non-fungible tokens within a single contract. So every NFT token-id will be able to have multiple owners

Ownership Models

Full Ownership

With full ownership, a user holds 100% of a terrain or asset, represented as a unique NFT (like DND-404 or ERC-721). This ownership means that the user has complete control over the asset, including the ability to sell, transfer, or develop it.

Benefits of Full Ownership:

  1. Control: The owner has full decision-making power regarding the asset.
  2. Simplicity: The legal and technical implications of ownership are straightforward.
  3. Value Retention: Full ownership often leads to higher perceived value in markets, as collectors and investors appreciate the uniqueness and exclusivity of singular assets.
  4. Direct Liquidity: With DND-404’s feature, owners can convert their NFTs into ERC-20 tokens for easy trading.

Shared Ownership

Shared ownership allows multiple users to collectively own a single terrain or asset, often represented as fractionalized NFTs. This can be implemented using ERC-1155, where a specific terrain can be owned by many parties through tokenized shares.

Benefits of Shared Ownership:

  1. Affordability: Lower entry barriers for investment, as multiple users can pool resources to own a valuable asset.
  2. Diversification: Users can diversify their portfolios by owning fractions of multiple terrains rather than one whole asset.
  3. Collaborative Development: Owners can work together to develop or improve the terrain, potentially increasing its value collectively.
  4. Liquidity: Shared ownership models can allow for easier trading of fractions, making it simpler to exit an investment or realize gains.

Let’s say you have a really unique asset and want to sell it for around $10,000 because of its value.

  • If it’s an NFT-721, you must wait for a single buyer to purchase the asset in one go for $10,000.
  • However, with DND-404, multiple people can purchase fractions of your asset without needing the full $10,000. This will turn into ERC-20 and this allows you to gain liquidity more quickly than through the traditional method. Once you’ve received your $10,000, you no longer need to manage the fractions, as that responsibility is no longer yours. People can then re-sell the fractions, creating additional economic activity. Eventually, if a collector acquires all the fractions, automatically will convert them back into a single NFT token.

The benefit of using DND-404 for terrain ownership is that all royalties go directly to you. In contrast, with ERC-1155, the royalties are split among all the owners.

I love the idea of a blockchain/NFT mario party where players can compete against each other for rewards or make bets.

We also want to implement where viewers can have input on the challenge progress or physics. Like sending token to increase difficulty or more earthquake in-game or spawn some monster. This will be lit when streamers playing the game, but this is after stage-1 mvp so we can focus on our current goal!

That sounds like a very fun user experience.

Here are a few questions your toic

  1. What criteria will determine the rarity of terrains during the minting event, and how will randomization be implemented?

  2. How will the reserved terrains for airdrops and giveaways be selected, and what benefits do they offer to participants?

  3. What advantages does joining the whitelist provide for users interested in accessing the minting event early?

  • The randomization will utilize an off-chain system with EIP-712 and a Dynamic Drop Rates mechanism, indicating that the chance of receiving a particular item changes based on player actions or existing inventory. The team will display the status live, using a combination of transaction hashes and timestamps to prevent manipulation. We may also modify the randomization feature if we discover more interesting methods; that’s why we haven’t disclosed the specifics yet—our priority is to focus on building our gameplay first. We are also considering integrating the VRF feature from Chainlink, but compatibility with TRON may complicate the user experience.
  • The team will determine the allocation for airdrops and giveaways. We have a draft prepared but haven’t finalized it yet, as we are still one month away from the mainnet launch and may want to adjust the system balance based on the smoothness of our launch.
  • The whitelist is not for the “Random Event” minting; it is for pre-determined rarity minting in our open shop. We have multiple minting event. As with any whitelist, participants will receive a big discounted price. We will announce that we plan to sell NFTs with specific rarities during a designated period and for a specified supply. If you don’t obtain any desirable NFTs during the “Random Event” and want assurance regarding your investment, you can join this whitelist event. However, the price will be higher unless you are part of the whitelist. Alternatively, you can try the more affordable option and test your luck in the “Random Event” minting.

What specific benefits do you expect players to gain from the ranked matchmaking and basic tokenomics introduced in Phase 1, and how will these features enhance their overall gameplay experience?

Basic tokenomics means the token will be used for entry fees in ranked matches, where players can stake their confidence level to win and earn from others. Terrain owners will also receive a portion of the pool rewards. Players will still be able to earn tokens from quests and daily rewards by playing non-ranked matchmaking. All of this will be automated on-chain using EIP-4337.

The thrill of earning more or losing tokens will enhance the gaming experience, similar to how UNO Mobile plays on psychological factors to keep players engaged. You can read this reddit review for insight. This is also based on my personal experience—there was a time when I enjoyed it and analyzed how it became addictive for me.
A game is more enjoyable when there is something to risk, I will explain the detail below.

Not every game is created for financial benefit; we still focus on fun and engaging experience in our gameplay, just like how fall-guy or stumble-guy. We don’t want to be a game that solely focuses on money, like many Web3 games that rely on their play-to-earn mechanisms, which often lead to inactivity when the market is down. Thus we open non-ranked matchmaking too.

@Shangra1
A game becomes significantly more enjoyable when there’s something at stake, as it taps into the psychological thrill of risk and reward. When players know they have something valuable on the line—whether it’s their in-game assets, tokens, or progress—it triggers a deeper emotional investment. This creates a heightened sense of urgency and excitement, amplifying the adrenaline rush when they’re close to winning or losing.

Psychologically, humans are wired to respond to risks because of the potential for reward. The anticipation of gaining something valuable, coupled with the fear of losing what they’ve already staked, creates an addictive cycle that motivates players to keep coming back. This is why games with high-risk mechanics, like ranked matchmaking, are so appealing. Each match becomes a test of skill, strategy, and nerve. The challenge isn’t just about winning the game—it’s about managing the risk and feeling the thrill of victory or the sting of defeat.

Games like UNO Mobile leverage this psychological pull perfectly by allowing players to risk their standing or rewards, while Game like fallguy with 3D movement skill making every match feel personal. This type of gameplay creates a sense of mastery and achievement when players overcome these risks, drawing them deeper into the game. The more players risk, the greater their potential reward, which stimulates the brain’s dopamine release, reinforcing the desire to keep playing.

However, it’s not all about the monetary or asset rewards. The emotional satisfaction of taking calculated risks, outwitting opponents, and coming out on top is a powerful motivator. It turns casual games into unforgettable experiences, building a loyal player base that values not just the gameplay but the psychological rollercoaster it offers.

In our game, this balance between risk and reward is crucial. While players have the opportunity to stake tokens or in-game assets in ranked matches, there’s always something at stake—whether it’s prestige, progression, or rewards. The thrill of potentially losing it all or gaining even more heightens the overall enjoyment, creating a dynamic, high-stakes environment that keeps players engaged long-term. This is how risk-based gameplay leads to deeper immersion and ultimately, more satisfying experiences.

The psychology behind risk makes games not just fun, but unforgettable, and we aim to harness that energy to enhance the player experience in every match.

Welcome once again to this amazing session 7 of hackathon I truly believe that HYAPE Party has the potential to be a game-changer in the on-chain gaming landscape but I will like you to provide some insight on how Three.js and Webgpu will be leveraged to ensure top performance and seamless user experience across different devices.

Welcome to Hackathon Season 7, feels kinda off to me that I missed your offering at first instance. Moving forward, merging popular multiplayer game mechanics with decentralized finance (DeFi) principles is an ambitious and innovative endeavor within the blockchain gaming sector. How would you ensure that the onboarding process is seamless for new players unfamiliar with blockchain concepts?

Three.js for 3D Rendering

  • Scene Graph Management: Three.js allows for efficient scene management, which is crucial for complex 3D environments. You can easily add, remove, and manipulate objects, making it easier to manage game elements dynamically.
  • Geometry and Materials: Use Three.js’s built-in geometries and materials to create rich visuals. The library supports advanced shaders that can be customized for unique visual effects.
  • Animation System: Three.js has a robust animation system, allowing you to create smooth character movements and transitions, which is vital for games like yours that emphasize dynamic gameplay.

WebGPU for Enhanced Performance

  • Low-Level Control: WebGPU provides a low-level API that gives you better control over the GPU, enabling more efficient rendering techniques. This can lead to improved frame rates and responsiveness, especially for effects-heavy scenes.
  • Parallel Processing: WebGPU’s ability to leverage the GPU’s parallel processing capabilities can significantly improve performance, allowing for more complex computations in real-time without bogging down the CPU.
  • Advanced Rendering Techniques: With WebGPU, you can implement advanced rendering techniques like deferred rendering, which can help manage multiple light sources and high-fidelity effects like bloom without compromising performance.

by combining Three.js and WebGPU, we create a visually stunning game like HYAPE Party that not only looks great but also performs well across various devices. The demo still hasn’t shown the maximum potential because we haven’t Implement Bloom Effects.

So later when we done using custom shaders in Three.js to implement bloom effects. WebGPU can enhance this by allowing our game to handle these shaders more efficiently, leading to stunning visuals without performance hits.

Actually, this game project isn’t as ambitious as our other project, CROSS-CHAIN STAR-EX. We initially created this HYAPE game to experiment with physics, but later our team decided to develop it into a full game with blockchain features, especially when the market becomes available.

To ensure seamless onboarding, players can log in and play the game using any web2 provider like Gmail or Facebook. The game is free to play, allowing them to start immediately and earn a custodial token. Later, once they learn more about blockchain, they can claim their assets to move them into the blockchain ecosystem or continue using the custodial option.

There is no proven record yet that ArtQuest can significantly enhance a game’s success, it is a common for every game has its own quests and mechanics. While ArtQuest aims to assist, it’s not necessarily essential for success. In fact, it could become a hindrance due to the additional steps it introduces.

Why would players need to submit proof when our system could automate that process immediately? Additionally, there’s a lack of strong benefits for game creators, and the true value of their NFTs is unclear because of insufficient use cases. They must first demonstrate that they have a community capable of attracting players. Even if we implement ArtQuest, its effectiveness in the long term remains uncertain. So probably only work with certain event collaboration!

I think the answer mainly focuses on gameplay. Our GameFi won’t depend on tokenomics like other GameFi projects. When the market is down, the game is down too. We’re not focusing on “play-to-earn”, we are focusing on fun experience!

Our main gameplay is similar to Stumble Guys or Fall Guys, but it runs in the browser, allowing players to enjoy it anywhere while earning royalties. Essentially, we could create this game with a fully custodial token in-game without blockchain, but that would limit ownership, and transferring items would become a hindrance.

By integrating blockchain, we aim to help players manage their assets and provide closer access to liquidity, all while keeping our focus on delivering the most fun and competitive gameplay experience.

Thank you for you’re replying to me, you’re reply show so much that you care so much about the gameplay experiencing over anything else, please tell me will your users who do not know so much about Blockchain need to manage wallet, thank you

We use wagmi library, players who do not know much about blockchain can just login through web2 provider (gmail, facebook, github, apple, etc) and wagmi system will create wallet for them, and detachable!

We use EIP-4337 to make this automated on-chain, so this gonna be looks like a custodial and player can make ZERO interaction with wallet as long as player don’t intend to transfer their asset. So player can accumulate a lot of tokens and assets without interacting with wallet at all.

Imagine, you are playing one of supercell game or any non-blockchain game, whether it’s clash of clans, brawl stars. You have some gems, and some assets, and finally you decide to stop playing and want to refund some of the gems you have collected. Turns out your account has already integrated to the wallet and you can detach it or transfer the asset to your other wallet. You proceed to change those gems to the available exchange to stable coin, or proceed to list the asset to opensea.io or other available nft marketplace

So we provide player the gameplay first, this will be seamless experience just like a normal non-blockchain game but on early stage, we still turning off this EIP-4337 feature since our blockchain dev also working on other stuff - buzzup and STAR-EX. our game-dev will lead and focus finishing the inital gameplay.
