What do you think about adding a banknote acceptor to the ATM? It makes it more professional but also riskier. Having only a coin acceptor keeps it at a playing level as amounts will unlikely go above a few dollars per transaction. Having a banknote acceptor is a whole different game.

Good question. In USA it might be needed since they have $1 bills. In Europe it starts with 5 which isn’t a huge amount but the concept would indeed switch from a fun toy to some more professional version.
I would say it’s a good idea since it would help the mass adoption. Friends onboarding friends and family. Maybe you should commercialise some stickers as well “don’t invest more than you can afford to lose”, “DYOR”,
hehe just to avoid arguments

It wouldnt be a bad idea.

What if someone put $100 note into the ATM and there is not enough available $trx, how does the person get his issued rectified.

I have been wanting to ask this question.

Since it’s currently made to keep it at home, you just ask to your friend to open the atm

I actually had this issue with my mom lol she put all the small coins she’s been keeping for years in it and that was actually like 24 euros and I only had 10 euros in the TRX wallet, so the transaction failed. I told her she had to open the ATM at the bottom to get all her coins back, she wasn’t happy about it haha
So yeah right now the only way to get your coins back if the transaction fails is to open the ATM, that’s why the owner has to make sure to put enough TRX to cover the expected transactions. On the other hand, if someone steals the ATM, he could access the software and copy your private key
so I wouldn’t put much money in it. As I said this thing isn’t very secure and should only be placed in trusted places ^^
However one evolution that could be great for improved security would be to integrate with secure hardware like a Ledger S or the “Secure Enclave” of an iPhone Secure Enclave - Apple Support These do not allow for the private key to ever be extracted, they only signs transaction passed to them.

Your mom had every right to be unhappy.:joy::joy:

I would like to make a recommendation if and only if it will be applicable in this situation.

What If;
Instead of putting the coins or note in first to initiate the transaction, you do it the other way round.

Example; i want 1000 $trx and it will cost me $54.

I will first initiate the transaction from the tablet pending the machine receiving my money. So i will initiate to withdraw 1000 $trx, the funds will be lock for 1minute till the machine receives equivalent amount in USD, when the machine receives my money then the locked funds will be availble for withdrawal.

In this case if i initiate a withdrawal of 1000 $trx and there is less in the ATM, it will simply indicate “insufficient fund”

What do u think? Is this workable?

As long as it’s a fun tool for home it’s not an issue if there is not enough liquidity.

The day it becomes more professional, the machine owner should make sure he has enough liquidity in the wallet for that kind of transaction. Also it would start in small businesses like bars. The boss is there at all time and can see if people are using it a lot or not. He can top up the wallet from his phone easily.

So I don’t think it’s really a major issue. Worse case scenario, the boss has to open the machine to give back the money to the client.

Client: Give me back my money

Owner: please wait! I am bringing out the keys :key:

That’s actually a super smart idea! It’s quite easy to modify the source code to do this and it would totally fix the issue of lack of liquidity!! Will start working on it this weekend

Yeah exactly, having it in bars or shops would be great, and the barman or cashier can guard it so it doesn’t have to be super robust and safe like an outdoor ATM! That would definitely be the way to go for creating an actual business around that project
