It’s becoming native to every hack that funds are eventually been returned and the hacker keeps a certain percentage. I think the motive behind these hacks is exposure of the weak points in the ecosystem.

I did read a tweet where the hacker maybe fumbled and sent a portion of the funds to the contract address.
