Copyright law is something we really care about. In the founder, we are 2 lawyers and I personally specialize in intellectual property and digital law.
Currently, it is complicated to copyright memes, as they are mostly allowed by “exceptions” that allow them to exist (otherwise, most memes would be infringements 
).
Our goal is not to give copyright ownership to memes. That would generate a privatization of memes, which is completely against the spirit of meme culture. So we will use copyright to ensure that memes remain a free culture, but at the same time share the value generated by each sale :
- We will use legal tools like free art license (close to open source) to make sure that everyone can use the memes.
- We will create dynamic NFTs to make sure that the value is shared among all. Example: if Elon Musk reposts a meme and you buy it, everyone will earn royalties: the meme template, the creator of the original meme, the community, and the meme reposter.
Instead of turning memes into private property, we make sure that the value is shared among everyone involved. And we consider this the most important thing.
In addition, it reflects more the spirit of Web3
