HackaTRON S6 - $5,000 Community Contributor Prize

Good day TronLive and everyone. Here are my point of view.

  1. I don’t like the idea that Bonus price is bigger than the 5th place of the voting price. Think should be something like this.

Bonus prices $3k each and voting price like this
1st $10k
2nd $8k
3rd $7k
4th $6k
5th $5k
@fabsltsa trust I’m making sense?.

  1. Memecoin are cool, but I will ask Tron dao to help support the already existing memecoin on Tron. The likes of TronGuy, $Shit and co. @Dendorion trust I’m making sense?

I feel if we have the memecoin track, it would be messy as we can have the traction of new members, but would or might leave a bad name like rugpulls and cash grab.

  1. I know Nigeria is affected in having a project in hackatron. If need be the rule can be revised. BUT WITH EXTRA RULE TO AVOID PREVIOUS ABUSE.

Thank you for the opportunity

@Sammy7566 you can stay active but reading on project here and get involved in project testing and contributions.

Interesting topic, for newbies and web2 passionate developers I think it is valuable to have pre-hackathon workshops that showcase what and how you can build with TRON / BTTC either as recorded tutorials or online live events. This is already happening in other blockchain hackathons and find it very useful.

Like @MarcoPolo said trondao could assign tasks or project ideas for developers to focus on what’s trending in the market or a specific need from trondao ecosystem.

Answering @TronLive questions:

  1. Lets flag them and block after X amount of spam/ai content is detected either by community or admins

  2. Getting better but we still find out several projects submitting template-like and low effort projects, I recommend to higher up the quality bar by making it clear for low effort projects that they won’t be selected or even not fully reviewed if enough red flags are found by admins. (making a video summarizing rules and Do’s /Don’ts including expected quality as part of future hackathons can help with this)

  3. I would suggest to add sponsors/partners specific needs for projects to explore their SDKs, tools, etc, also to improve description of what fits into the Integration track as this specific track caused confusion among several community members and projects. I’m pro memecoins but with reduced prize and special conditions to qualify compared to other tracks/categories

  4. I have several ideas:

  • Create and extensively review with community a concise way of explaining the rules with a brief video

  • Create a timeline chart which clearly explains key and expected outcomes for each hackathon phase, something like this:

  • Make it clear in the rules that fundamentals of each project need to be achieved before submission end date including clear milestones and dates as per discused in here

  1. I would suggest yes and also would encourage community members to go beyond commenting and also help testing the projects as other people already suggested (some are already doing that, thanks you! )

  2. Not knowledgable here.

  3. Latin America!

  4. No comments

Thank you for thinking in this direction, which somehow aligned with my proposal but in a different direction. I believe if the team can empower some of the forum members here, it will definitely measure up in advancing the expansion of the Tron ecosystem. If other chains can have a pre-hackathon workshops for their community, we can do that as well or try out something different

This is an interesting topic and I will like to answer according to my understanding

Q1. The admins should leave them but ban them only if they are spamming the forum. If there is any reward to be given to participate, those that engage without the use of chatgpt should be considered first.

Q2. I can’t say for the last season but there is a lot of quality projects in the current season and I hope they keep developing on their project after the hackathon.

Q3. My answer on this will be memetokens since JS is also a fan of memetoken :star_struck:

Q4. There is a lot of confusion on what qualify a project to be in a certain track, especially the integration track. I think the team should make qualification into any track as clear as possible to avoid this confusion in next season. Also, I noticed some projects entering the hackathon with half written forum post and take a long time to complete the post. This often make it so burdensome for community members by reading the post of a certain hackathon participant over a couple of times to cover all the details of the project which also, often lead to some community members missing out to read and engage with other hackathon post. I think the team should look into this issue and make post submission to be done once in order to save the community the stress of keeping tabs on projects that keep adding to their post in batches.

Q5. I see a fault in how the hackathon pricing was structured especially regarding to some least voted projects and projects that was disqualified but became eligible for bonus prizes. In my opinion, bonus prizes should not be more than vote winning prizes in any circumstances. My take on this is for overhaul of the prize structure.

Q6. I really lack the knowledge to answer this and I will leave it for those that know better :star_struck:

Q7. I have little knowledge about this as I am a new member in the forum and only get to see the TRON Builder Tour events on twitter. But on where to visit next, I think the next event should be taken to Africa considering the growing presence of the Tron network in the region.

Q8. I believe this question should better be answered by developers and unfortunately I am not one yet :star_struck:

10 prizes kept for community members. This is amazing

Njce initiative by trondoa :+1:

Thank you very much, @SimbadMarino. I agree with your points as well!

@tronlive I would like to suggest another thing, which is that the hackathon should be promoted more widely among all partners on X and their websites.

There were very few posts about this hackathon. And it definitely can be improved.

Additionally, the main sponsors should share the hackathon with their followers so that more projects will join. The more projects that join, the better it is for Tron.

P.S. This might be bad news for my favorite projects like JustMoney project because they will face more competition. :innocent:

Completely agree with you ! HackaTRONs should be promoted more by the hackathon partners and especially trondao and bittorrent X(twitter) accounts. At least 2 posts about hackaTRON should be made every day.

Be active to win community contributor rewards.

I had to screenshot both you and @Prince-Onscolo comment and in my opinion, this is as valid and legit as it gets. I’ve to chide in to share my 2 cents and I think in this instance, what community wants, community gets. @Prince-Onscolo @Youngyuppie @Nana66419 @fabsltsa @Okorie @Nweke-nature1.com and the rest, no pun intended if I missed out on your name have really been the fuel this forum thrives on post-hackathon.
The only devs I see around is @MarcoPolo tbvh, he’s been here dropping fire content about JM pre-hackaton, the rest duck post-hackathon and it ain’t condescending at all to call them cash grabbers. I’m not advocating for myself, take me outta the picture, but if the community is saying you should up the ante to take care of your real forum members, then it’s really something to look into.
