Usually in Romania, Europe I myself spend around 10 USD! That is in the corner shop but when I go to a supermarket I will spend around 100 USD (as usually, I go 2 a week) and we are three in the family me, my wife and my 2 years baby boy!
On the topic at hand, I believe age is more of a correlational indicator of spending rather than a direct cause. In other words, a typical 30-year-old man tends to spend more than a 20-year-old man—not simply because he is older, but because, on average, he is more likely to have higher expenses related to things like owning a home, buying his own groceries, supporting children, and other responsibilities that come with that stage of life.
Country and location also plays a crucial role. For example, someone earning $50,000 per year in India or Pakistan or maybe Romania would be in the top 0.1 percent of earners, while the same income in usa particularly in cities like New York, San Diego, or San Jose after taxes or even Dubai might barely cover living expenses.
In Africa where I’m from, men are basically providers, like tasked to be over-providers so much so you shoulder alot of responsibilities by default unnoticingly and can’t complain, you’re meant to sulk it up whilst acting macho at the same time.
With this, I spend $10 - $15 everyday, that’s quite a handful given the current inflation, I’m thankful to Web3/remote jobs btw.
P.S - it was global mental health day the other day, take your mental health seriously guys, welcome to my TedTalk.
I could agree more over the mental health especially for people working in office domains/(not in an office but rather daily with computers. / customer service/software/…)
Mental healthy especially over mens is a big issue globally!
