Thank you very much,

The download button on the website goes to the Github repository of the project here you can choose to look at the files and download the whole repository. Downloading and installing is only needed if you want to use it on a ESP32 device.

( The download button should work, i tested it on multiple browsers and mobile. It wont download directly but leads you to the github repository where you can download)

If you don’t want to use it on a ESP32 device, but want to use it instead on a browser capable device like a mobile phone, tablet or smart TV, than you don’t need to download or install anything and you can just use the Web version of miniMEME (The web version has bit less features) it is located here.

Thank you for you’re replying to me, I think one thing that is missing from you’re design is animation, so let me ask, are you planning to add animation to you’re design, thank you

Thank you for your question:

On the miniMEME ESP32 device animated memes will be difficult because of limited memory on the tiny device and no default support for animated GIF files but it might be possible. At the moment the GIF files are converted and shown, but only the first slide of the animation.

The Sunpump website is dynamically created content that holds the images, it can’t be used directly and to solve this, the miniMEME server loads the Sunpump site periodically to be able to extract the latest freshly added memes, and prepares them for the miniMEME device.

The server prepares them for both solutions, miniMEME for ESP32 devices and miniMEME WEB for browser capable devices, at the moment they both share the same source of prepared images that the miniMEME server prepares, but this can be made in more specific solutions, where the server also prepares the files in a separate specific way for the WEB version for browser capable devices. Than it will be possible to have bigger resolution images, a better full screen mode and animations on the WEB version.

Thank you for your message,

You can try it on a mobile device right now and can add it to your homescreen

The small inexpensive, low power, always on ESP32 device also has it unique charms, but i did also keep other devices in mind as well that people already own, and for anyone wanting to try it, it is possible to use the miniMEME WEB version it has a bit less features (compared to the tiny ESP32 device) and the WEB version will work on many browser capable devices.

The version for the tiny ESP32 device is a showcase and base for a picture frame product that proves that a dedicated stand alone MEME coin picture frame product is possible, and explorers the possibilities and implication of hardware and software when making this kind of picture frame product.

The miniMEME WEB version can be used on phones, tablets, chromebooks, etc. but as said the WEB version doesn’t have all the features yet that the tiny ESP32 device already have, but it does the most important things, like showing the latest memes.

Wanted to share that the miniMEME landing page is updated to improve usability and have a responsive design on mobile devices :iphone: and to add in the latest updates and developments related to the WEB and ESP32 version of miniMEME.

:framed_picture: :bar_chart: :arrow_forward:

  • Textual updates to the introduction text to explain the project.
  • Text styling (less important text is made less visible to have a cleaner look and less clutter)
  • Added two buttons with explanation underneath it to start with miniMEME, one for ESP32 boards to download on Github , the other button for web browser capable devices to open the WEB version.
  • Mobile viewing improvement, responsive page, the landing page is now optimized for viewing on mobile device (phone, tablet etc.) (@Nweke-nature1.com , this should also solve the issue that you had with the button )

Thank you for your reply and for checking and sending the screenshot, the screenshot you shared is of the WEB version, that opens after the “try now” button is pressed on the landing page. :white_check_mark:

Some optional suggestions for the best experience on your phone

  • You can turn your phone horizontal for better viewing experience :sunrise:
  • Put it on a stand on your desk :framed_picture:
  • Instead of your daily used phone you can repurpose a old smart phone and give it a new Tron crypto meme purpose with miniMEME :phone:
  • If you press the 3 dots on the right top, there’s probably a option “add to” when press it it allows to add a app like shortcut to memeMEME on your Android home screen. :arrow_forward:

Opening it trough the phone home screen icon is more easy and has the extra benefit that it will also show less of the browser bars.

(i have been implementing a solution that makes the miniMEME WEB version into a installable WEB app, this is not yet finished it will than be more user friendly to add it as a app icon to the home screen.)

The view is too small moreover only few memes was found there

Thank you for your reply,

It will slideshow :arrow_forward: only the latest 4 meme images :framed_picture: , and will automatically show the new :sparkles: ones the moment they are added on Sunpump.

if the view is to small, with pinch zoom hand gesture you can zoom in, make it bigger and position the screen and make it any size and it will also stay like that, but if i look at your screenshot, just rotating your device should be enough to have it displayed as intended and will look something like the below pictures

(if your device is not rotating horizontaly :sunrise: when you turn it you can activate this by swiping from the top of the screen to bottom and there where your wifi on/off icon is there should also be a device rotating icon that you can activate.)

For example on a Google Pixel 7 phone it will / should look like this:

Galaxy S8+

iPhone 12 Pro
