To start with a little shout out to @leohymon I observed your great works too , your tag also helps me to review some projects I missed/skipped, kudos
I came with something after my observations , I think we should hold on at least for one good year before organizing another hackathon why ? Because the results/development updates from the previous winnerâs are not encouraging, most vanish like a whirl wind while some vanish like a smoke the only positive results always comes from the OG projects like @JustMoney@TuruGlobal claimfreetrx by @Stian@OnChainVision etc
We have had up to 7 seasons of hackathons yet we lack projects that are building on Tron , are they coming for the cash or does that mean that the prize money not enough for the development? Would also like to hear from some Devs on this . So for me I would like the next hackathon to be skipped in 2025 inorder to monitor recent winnerâs developments then resume in 2026 with strict rules that welcome only the real builders. I donât own the forum this is just my 2 cents would like to hear the thoughts of everyone @Prince-Onscolo@Gordian@fabsltsa@Youngyuppie@Relate101@ines_valerie@manfred_jr@maaz@HODL@WindsOfChange92@SimbadMarino@admin.hackathon and everyone in the forum, I canât mention all
The goal is to make Tron great
We are stronger together
Hehehehehe we wonât skip or halt or terminate any HackaTRON
We have to put some measures in place to make sure teams continue building. For example; a winner from one of the past seasons must not be allowed to submit a new project if their old project is not working or working but no users.
If it will be for only the OGs like those you mentioned that one too will be fine. We know the will use the funds to continue building
Maybe the problem doesnât come from the hackathon itself but the changes made on the chain level last few years (fees, energy,âŠ)and lack of support for builders (docs, advertising on Tronscan, emails not answered, issues not fixed,âŠ). By making the chain more builder friendly we might retain more of them.

Although it is a good suggestion, some projects aim to improve their projects by entering the builder category with the awards they will receive. I support the suggestion, the same but only in the form of not skipping any hackathons.
In 1 year, maybe there are close to 500 projects on TRON here on forum alone. It seems like no one wants this number to drop.
Good day Buddy, have been so engaged IRL recently.
Finally had time to be here. Is like you should be ready for
Some fighting. Lols
With due respect, I no gree o.
Here my few backup reasons why the Hackathon should not be halted.
The forum dried up
The real and OG developers will be discouraged and could move to another Blockchain. ( Tron gonna lose talent)
Young developer talent (exploring Tron) will be halted too
Yes we have bad project that disappear after each hackatron wins. But more rule and screening can minimise them.
We too will be displaced
The initiative for the school Hackathon tour all be halted too. Think about it
Yes o, the goal is to make the Tron Great and sTRONger
The problem is not from Tron Hackathon.
But if Tron can just support Real/OG project
It will send messages across builders on Tron to be serious
And build good projects. Hope you get my point now
Fabs made a suggestion that, For builders track.
Project submission in new season should provide links to previous projects and probably state major updates in between those projects
This situation seems a bit strange to me. For example, someone went and developed 3 projects in previous seasons. But they continue with new projects. When asked how it is going, they say âFacebook is not Markâs first projectâ.
Okay, we respect new ideas, but it seems a bit strange to constantly produce brand new projects every season. After all, it is impossible for 2 people team to manage 4 well-equipped projects. Because a project is not just about delivery, it also includes continuing in real life. It also includes issues such as providing social media, closing the gaps, and ensuring continuous security.
Not really, you canât come 10 times with the same project. You need significant improvements. But if it happens, why not have a builders-defi, builders-artistry,âŠ
Yeah if someone realises his project wonât work cause there is no market, I can understand he wants to try something else. But some are real dapp factories and never pursue any after the hackathon. Potentially taking open source code, forking and waiting for free money
