Fab you really hit an interesting point I think @admin.hackathon should consider what fab just said right now instead of merging the whole builders track together, I should be divided as mentioned above by @fabsltsa e.g builders - Defi , builders - integration etc
we need to have this, I agree Fabs
That is why they are called cash grabbers but our efforts is to try our possible best to put an end to to it , we want real builders not cash grabbers
you cant hahahaha
Hehe some parameters might chase them but itās a gradual process though
So you find this statement funny too
I donāt see halting or terminating the hackathon giving solution to this. The team should make the prize less attractive and support winners more on collaborations
Valid point though but I think reducing prize might affect the real builders that needs the funds to source out there project
Halt hackaTron for 10 years, resume it the following year, the same problem will still be happening. We have discussed this season after season and the admins donāt want to act on it yet. Most of these guys see hackaTron as a means to cash some bucks and walk away, thatās why you will see a new user that just finish learning how to code submitting 2 different projects in a hackaTron he is participating for the first time and maybe after winning a prize, they will disappear into a thin air leaving their project half dead. Then when another hackaTron is announced they will come up with a new project or make some updates on one of the 2 projects he submitted in the previous hackaTron and resubmit it in builders track without a check on usability of the project before qualifying it in the hackaTron. To solve this problem, the whole hackaTron rules should be reviewed and more strict rules be applied to project qualifications.
Terminate or skip hackathon is not the best solution, Tron is a large Blockchain in the crypto space, so coming up with different valuable and potential projects is a very big plus for Tron ecosystem. So for project that hajack funds and disappear always have one way of coming back because I believe they will be caught in the process.
Do you realize that holding on for at least one year as you suggested mean holding on innovations, ideas, and talents that is needed to make Tron to keep growing?
I donāt think that is the best thing to do, like others have suggested, more measures should to apply to make the hackathons to be more effective.
This is basically like saying we donāt need to feed from spoons when our hands can do the job then complain later about having oily fingers when basically you couldāve stuck to using spoons or water-proof gloves for meals like seafood. Stringent measures can be adopted to check the progress of projects entered during the Hackathon rather than a 1yr denial period. A whole year bro, thatās alot of time, imagine the friction itāll take to catch up to a lost year, come on man!
For anyone who really wants to build a sustainable project, having the prize money reduced while facilitate collaborations for them wonāt cause the team any harm
I donāt think the the Hackathon should be suspended for one year because it will cause Plenty setback but instead they should make new rules that will stop the exploitation thing that you have mention
