I’m also a holder. I’m terrible at trading so far I will keep learning about that too tho but for the rest I will keep holding coins and tokens I like.
Always have to follow the basic rules, don’t invest more than you can afford to lose, do your research,…
And I would add, when it comes to investing on small mcap projects, look at what they promise and what they deliver. A project that underpromises and overdelivers can bring you nice surprises. Those who promise a lot of things but don’t deliver anything or some low quality products, they will only bring you bad surprises 
And in general if I see a project that promise an Nft with usecase + gamefi + DeFi + …. on a small timeline, I tend to become doubtful.

, most of the projects are only based on hypes and fakes promises without offering anything to the table, we have to be more careful out there

As a Normal rule of thumb for me
I can relate.
I shouldn’t invest more than my risk tolerance.
I hold the coins I like (Tron and others).
And I skip the project or coins
That over promised profit to its community.
I could tag them as TOO REAL TO BE TRUE.

Hahaha money is very hard to come by these days, but in crypto they say dont invest what u cant afford to lose. Who told them i can afford to lose anything in the first place.
