Project Goal:
buzzup aims to revolutionize the way users engage with social media by creating an all-in-one SocialFi platform. It aggregates content from various platforms like Twitter, YouTube, Farcaster, etc allowing users to engage with it directly through buzzup. The goal is to reward for user’s activity with blockchain-based tokens, encouraging genuine engagement and eliminating the need for fake followers and artificial popularity boosts.

We want to revolutionize how content creators and consumers interact within the social media ecosystem. In an era where visibility is often influenced by manipulated metrics and inflated engagement, we introduce an economic model that balances content supply and viewer demand.

By leveraging blockchain technology, buzzup enables users to organically boost their content visibility with ease, utilizing both the TRC-20 $BUZZ Token and $UP Token. This fosters a decentralized and transparent ecosystem that empowers creators and consumers alike. Similar to an ad in a discovery feed—where users naturally engage without realizing it’s a promoted post. By improving buzzup’s recommendation algorithm, we aim to offer genuine engagement opportunities for creators, ensuring that content recommendations feel authentic while still being effective in boosting visibility.

iOS: TBA by @theras team
Android: TBA by @theras team

Project Value:

  • Genuine Engagement: buzzup offers a decentralized alternative to fake followers and fake engagement. Users earn rewards for their actual contributions, helping them boost their profiles based on genuine activity.

  • Cross-Platform Aggregation: buzzup consolidates content from multiple social platforms into one seamless experience. Users no longer need to hop between platforms to engage with content, improving their efficiency and interaction. buzzup allows users to post content that is redirected to other social platforms too.

  • Layer 2 Social Media Aggregation: buzzup pulls in content from other social platforms, enhancing visibility for users while avoiding direct competition with those platforms. Instead, we help each social platform to gain more visibility such as new socialFi Farcaster or Lens.

  • Demand-Supply Algorithm for Traffic: Content visibility is determined by a dynamic algorithm that adjusts traffic pricing based on demand, creating a competitive marketplace where users bid for trending spots.

  • Transparent Blockchain-Based System: By leveraging TRON and BTTC blockchain networks, to manage its content economy, ensuring transparency and security in traffic pricing. Also ensures decentralized tokenomics, seamless on-chain interaction, and real value for user activities.

  • Reward System: The platform’s native tokens—$BUZZ and $UP—allow users to earn, hold, and spend tokens to increase their visibility and engagement across platforms. Users can also redistribute their tokens to reward fans and drive engagement on their own content.

  • User Grading System: Instead of focusing on follower counts, buzzup employs a unique grading system that values user contribution and interaction, promoting authentic engagement.

Project Info:

buzzup acts as a middleware content aggregator. Users don’t create content directly on buzzup; instead, they share, like, retweet, or repost content from external platforms such as Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, and others. Every action performed on buzzup directly affects the original platform, meaning if you like a post in buzzup, it is automatically liked on the original platform as well. So technically, we are layer 2 social media platform designed to enhance the visibility and engagement of content by leveraging existing social networks.

For the rewards system, we integrated with the TRON and BTTC blockchains to enable smooth and secure handling of $BUZZ token transactions. We utilized EIP-4337 to automate on-chain processes without overwhelming the user with complex blockchain tasks. This abstraction allows users to engage with the app effortlessly, while the backend ensures all actions and rewards are properly logged and managed on-chain.

buzzup’s infrastructure also heavily relies on Token Bound Accounts using EIP-6551 to allow users to tie specific on-chain interactions to their profiles seamlessly. We incorporated a variety of token standards—ERC-1155 for multi-token capabilities, ERC-721 for NFTs, and ERC-20 for handling the $BUZZ and $UP tokens. This multi-token system is crucial for managing the various types of rewards and assets users can earn or interact with on the platform. With blockchain integration, buzzup ensures full transparency in its traffic economy, allowing users to purchase authentic traffic using $UP tokens, fostering real, organic growth. We utilize 3 tokens within our ecosystem:

  • $BUZZ (TRC-20)

  • $UP (TRC-20)

  • $BUDDY (ERC-20), live on the Polygon Mainnet

The detail utility is here explained:

We partnered with $BUDDY for initial buzzup development, $BUDDY is an AI TOKEN that is already live on Polygon mainnet. When buzzup users hold $BUDDY the AI will help to engage on every post you created on the buzzup application or you can also use it on Twitter/Farcaster/Lens by simply tagging the @MemeBuddyMaster account on every post or reply.

Project Details:

buzzup’s API is designed to reconstruct content algorithms from various social media platforms to fit seamlessly within buzzup’s ecosystem. The goal is to create a more balanced and personalized content experience, blending top trending content with user preferences to ensure meaningful engagement and discovery.

  1. Content Aggregation: buzzup integrates with APIs from platforms like Twitter, YouTube, Lens, Farcaster, and Other, gathering top trending content from each platform based on their native algorithms. We also collect user-specific data, including their interaction history, preferences, and social graph.
  2. Algorithm Reconstruction: Once the data is collected, buzzup’s API reconstructs the algorithm to combine the trends and user preferences into a unified feed. This reconstructed feed is unique to buzzup, leveraging platform-specific trends but customizing them to fit the user’s overall preferences and engagement history across all platforms.
  3. Balanced Content Curation:
  • Top Trending Content: Content that’s trending globally or within specific regions or communities is included to ensure users remain up-to-date with what’s popular.
  • User Preferences: buzzup personalizes content based on the user’s behavior, interests, and the type of content they frequently engage with. We prioritize content that aligns with their preferences while balancing it with trends.
  • Combination Logic: The reconstructed algorithm finds an equilibrium between global trends and user-specific interests, ensuring that popular content doesn’t overshadow the user’s tailored experience. This creates a feed that’s relevant, engaging, and diverse.
  1. Enhanced Discovery: buzzup’s unique algorithm improves the discovery process by giving lesser-known creators and niche content an opportunity to be seen. Unlike traditional algorithms that might favor accounts with high follower counts, buzzup’s reconstructed algorithm promotes content based on engagement potential and user preferences, giving all users a fair shot at visibility.
  2. User-Centric Experience: Ultimately, the API aims to enhance the user experience by providing a customized feed where trending topics don’t dominate but are integrated smoothly into the user’s tailored content selection. This gives users a balance of popular and personalized content, promoting both discovery and satisfaction.

A. Unique Insights About Our Target Users:

  • Most of our target users belong to the new generation, characterized by quick, short attention spans and a strong curiosity for exploring new apps. They are eager to consume a lot of information in a short time, making content visibility crucial.

  • Many of them are web3 startups aiming to enhance their social media presence and traffic in a competitive digital landscape.

  • They’re also seeking more efficient ways to drive traffic for simple giveaways, shifting away from traditional Discord and Telegram giveaways, which are often ineffective at exploring new markets and acquiring genuine engagement.

Our distribution strategy revolves around two core approaches: leveraging social giveaways and a combination of physical and virtual outreach to drive user acquisition.

  1. Social Giveaway Focus:

buzzup was originally designed to streamline social giveaways, making it incredibly easy for users to join and collect giveaways in one click app. This convenience will naturally attract a swarm of users. For clients looking for more exposure, buzzup offers high-ranking content visibility. To ensure fairness and avoid bots, we’ve implemented a grading system for user profiles. This system integrates KYC and an influencer rate, which adds credibility to user profiles. Users can also improve their grades by actively participating in events and maintaining daily streaks.

  • The grading system consists of:

  • Proof of Loyalty: Based on user activity and consistent participation.

  • Proof of Involvement: Achieved through specific tasks and engagement quality.

  • Both factors contribute to a user’s overall grade.

  • Content is graded as either Grade A or Grade B, with Grade A content created or voted on by the buzzup community for quality and engagement.

  • We will host regular virtual giveaways, partnering with other projects to incentivize users to stay active, ensuring transparency as the reward pool will be governed by smart contracts.

  1. Physical Distribution Strategy:

We plan to launch on-the-ground promotional campaigns starting in Indonesia in early November at events in Jakarta and Bangkok, with influencers who have a combined following of 500k. buzzup content creators will visit various countries and cities, conducting street surveys while promoting the app.

  • Users who install the app and create accounts will receive a free buzzup t-shirt and may be compensated for tasks such as retweeting buzzup content.

  • While promoting, we’ll also introduce the app’s available giveaways, providing a direct incentive for people to engage with the platform.

  1. Top Content Highlights:
  • on a weekly or daily basis, the buzzup account across various social media platforms will select and highlight specific user-generated content. This serves as an indirect testimony of platform success, showing that real users are engaging with buzzup and benefiting from it.

I will like to welcome you to the Hackathon of season 7 but I realize that I have welcome you before and this is your second entry, please tell me how are you going to take care of increase in traffic and content load as you’re platform grows, thank you

Welcome to hackaTron S7. You are building a project that integrate social media platforms into one platform? That is great but my question is, how are users going to different which content is from a particular SM platform?

Again, how will your economic model balance content supply and viewer demand?

Can you elaborate more? buzzup is entering its first hackathon and it’s still the idea, and currently on developing the UIUX first.

If there’s an increase in traffic and it remains steady, that’s great news! We have a premium system and are starting to generate revenue. Tractions is exactly what investors want too. This will enable me to request funding to scale the app.

Each user won’t affect content load, as we have a content management system that stores and tracks content in the BitTorrent File System. The system allows us to determine which content to show to users without bloating the external api usage.

Our content is like top trending topics from across various social media platforms, such as Twitter, YouTube, Lens, Farcaster, TikTok, etc.
and we just organised neatly the content based on their behaviour so they will stick to the buzzup and open it daily, instead opening each apps 1-by-1 now users can get all-in-one informations in buzzup

Also the way we manage content load will evolve based on user engagement. Once we reach 20,000 users, we will start introducing a better preference system. When we hit 500,000 users, we plan to incorporate machine learning, which I believe will be a significant advancement . However, our goal for the post-hackathon phase is simply to reach those initial 20,000 users.

Although there will be icons indicating the original content source, users can go directly to the original content. Based on our rough research and survey, users don’t necessarily need to identify every source; what they really seek is distraction. Everyday users are often bored and need interesting content to satisfy their curiosity—this is the current habit of digital media!

The challenge we’ve encountered is with the user experience (UX), as we will be presenting a wide variety of content from various social media platforms. We already have ideas for testing it out and will continue to learn how to improve the experience.

Let’s say today there’s news about an assassination attempt on Trump, and you want to post related content. However, many others are posting similar content as well. To ensure your content stands out, you want to purchase the visibility. The challenge is many users are also demand the same thing, competing for the same spotlight, this can lead to a price spike and bidding wars for trending spots during that period.

To address this imbalance, our economic model implement the $UP token based on supply and demand. As more users demand for visibility, the cost of using the $UP token would increase, reflecting its heightened demand. As more users also want $UP token, the value of $UP token would increase too. This will lead investors to hold significant amount of $UP token even before they intend to use it yet, knowing the importance of the valuable token would increase over time.
Additionally, we could introduce limits on the number of posts that can occupy the trending spots during such period to ensure that not all content can flood in at once, allowing for a more balanced distribution of visibility.

So, as you can see, there are 2 economic factors at play here: the high demand for the $UP token, which leads to an increase in its value, and the demand for visibility in trending spots, which results in higher costs.

Buzzup is a compelling vision for revolutionizing the social media landscape.
But my question are

  • What plan has Buzzup put in place to ensure seamless integration with Blockchain tech.

  • How will Buzzup addresses privacy concern related to users data.

  • What benefits will $BUZZ, $UP and $BUDDY provide to users creator and the platform in general.

Welcome to Grand hackathon S7
What would be the cost of a user to promote his content?
Will this subscription be on a daily, weekly, monthly or annually?
You mentioned about your app , is it already available to download from Google app ?
You also mentioned about T shirts :tshirt: in a case whereby 100k+ users downloaded the app will it still reach to all or you max numbers to reach?

Welcome to Hackathon Season 7, after a careful read I see this is a proposed social finance (SocialFi) platform aiming to transform how content creators and consumers interact within social media.
Given the inclusion of $BUDDY on the Polygon Mainnet, is there a plan for potential cross-chain interactions that could enhance liquidity and user engagement?

I don’t quite agree that users don’t necessarily need to identify every source because as a social media user, it is important to me to identify the source I get my information from. Taking an instance from the assassination attempt on Trump that you referenced, it’s important for me to explain the source of the information to my close ones when discussing the incident with them. Your position on this has made me curious to know how and where you conducted your research and also, the people you considered in your survey.

Again, can you clarify what you mean when you said that what users seek is distraction?

The whole concept sounds great but it left me wondering apart from using the $UP token to bid for a spot in the trending spot, will investors be able to exchange this token in the market?

$UP token is not a soulbond token, and every TRC/ERC-20 token which are not soulbond token will be able to get it in the market when their team list it. So yes, we will list the $UP token to some exchange too

When I mentioned that users seek distraction, I’m referring to how, in today’s fast-paced digital environment, many people turn to apps and platforms as a way to escape or briefly detach from their daily routines or stresses. Social media, entertainment, and even certain forms of interactive content are often used not just for productivity or self-improvement but for brief moments of relaxation, entertainment, and diversion.

In the context of BuzzUp, we recognize that many users—especially younger generations with short attention spans—are drawn to quick, engaging content that offers that type of distraction. This is why the younger generation uses TikTok daily, while people in their 30s and older tend to prefer platforms like Twitter. Shifting social media habits for older generations is more challenging. However, platforms like Lenster and Farcaster have gained traction because they tap into the curiosity of users by integrating web3 elements, which appeals to those interested in emerging technologies and decentralized networks. This web3 involvement sparks curiosity making younger generation also use Twitter too, helping these platforms grow despite the natural resistance older users might have to changing social media habits.

Let me ask you this: how many times do you open social media for a quick hit of dopamine? Do you even remember every time you open your app yesterday? Now, did you open it to actually seek out information, or were you just looking to scroll through some random memes? Whatever the reason, it likely falls under distraction. That’s part of your digital lifestyle — you’re not opening social media to do research or for work; it’s mostly for a brief escape, not for carefully recording valuable findings.
