HackaTRON S6 - $5,000 Community Contributor Prize

. Ques 4
For me I think Introducing a theme or specific challenge for participants to address in their projects.
This can help focus creativity and innovation on a particular problem or industry, leading to more impactful solutions.

  1. Incorporate mentorship opportunities for participants, where experienced professionals can provide guidance, feedback, and advice throughout the event. This can help teams refine their ideas and improve their projects.

  2. Offer workshops or training sessions on relevant tools, technologies, and skills that participants may need to successfully complete their projects. This can help level the playing field and ensure all teams have access to the resources they need.

  3. Extend the duration of the event to allow for more time for ideation, development, and presentation of projects. This can help teams produce more polished and refined solutions.

  4. Increase collaboration opportunities by encouraging participants to form interdisciplinary teams that bring together a diverse range of skills and expertise. This can lead to more well-rounded and innovative projects.

  5. Implement a judging criteria that not only rewards technical proficiency but also factors in creativity, impact, and scalability of the projects.
This can help recognize a wider range of achievements and encourage teams to think more strategically about their solutions.

1. We noticed people are reporting bots, or human-bots. Some are using chatgpt responses to ask questions. What do you think the mods should do with these types of accounts?

Mods should definitely ban these types of accounts. If we allow bots while answering questions, there will be more people who try to contribute to Dead Internet Theory

2. How do you find the quality of projects this season compared to last season? If you were not here last season, how do you find the overall quality of the submissions so far?

There were a lot of aspiring projects this season, I think the most popular ones are AI-related projects. I’ve also seen some Metaverse projects after a while. People were way more creative this season.

3. What tracks do you suggest the team should add to the integration track? Payments, Bitcoin L2? Memetokens?

I’m not a big fan of meme tokens and I think they damage the Blockchain and its reputation. I also think Bitcoin L2’s are useless. Payment gateway solutions would be a great task for integration track. There are lots of centralized crypto gateways and almost zero P2P gateways.

4. What do you think we can try differently for next season’s HackaTRON?

For HackaTRON season 7, it’d be amazing to see official Twitter accounts of Tron Foundation share and support participating projects to gain more attraction.

5. Do you think there’s a need to increase or decrease the community prize amounts? (P.S. We already saw an opinion from a member here and would like to know the opinions of others) The community had different opinions in previous seasons, and we’re wondering what the current opinion is.

Prize amounts are sufficient, I think we can have more various tracks.

6. If we were to have a memetoken sidetrack, or perhaps a separate activity of its own, what could TRON try out? Have you noticed any interesting memetoken events happening on other blockchains that you think would be good for us to try?-

I think it’d be great to have a platform like pump.fun to manage all meme tokens in one place. I still think meme tokens are harmful for the environment, but if we are going to have it, it’s better be managed in a single platform.

7. Those who have been here long enough should know about the TRON Builder Tour (TBT) during our HackaTRON. Where would you like to see the TRON team visit?

Pump.fun on Tron should come with a disclaimer that says: “doomed to be rugged” lol.

Another season, another step in the right direction and another opportunity for users and devs to participate in building a better ecosystem around Tron and BTTC.
As a participant since S1, in all previous rounds, I see some things getting better and some not quite to the top yet. So, please take my words as constructive criticism:

  1. Bots should be banned from voting. Human bots that are just wasting their time with stupid questions, let them be. No one will answer them, I guess.
  2. Some projects are outstanding as usual. Maybe the average is not quite on par with some of the previous editions. Maybe some more guidance on what the DAO expects to be developed would help.
  3. Please leave memes outside of this place. They have nothing to do with making crypto something that can have impact on real life. Memes are fun and are meant to make some lucky users rich and everyone else poorer. I would like to see more commitment to BTTC.
  4. Overall format is fine.
  5. The community prize is the most engaging one, the one that brings more action. Make it bigger and we’ll see more users hanging around the forum during the event.
  6. Already answered before. Keep memes out of the hackathon. A dedicated event could be cool, just don’t forget that much has been promised on this topic in the past and nothing has been done. I’m still waiting for the meme carnival on BTTC…
  7. More EU please
  8. Nothing to say here

One additional word about Bittorrent Chain. Has the DAO completely abandoned it? Do you know that the basic services are not present on BTTC? Like a DEX to perform a simple swap. There is zero liquidity on BTTC. Without liquidity what can anyone do? Nothing. There were a lot of promises on BTTC for 2024, but apparently they all vanished, again. Please. Do. Something.

The points you mentioned wrt BTTC are so true … also BTT can have a good momentum if DPIN , RWA offerings are built on BTTC wrt its native decentralised storage structure

Pump.fun is a dex that’s almost designed as a joke and strictly for memes on Solana, just like Jupiter on Solana too that airdropped the much talked about $jup tokens to the users of it’s dex. Difference is Jupiter is more solid and don’t list token with 0 liquidity whilst pump.fun is pure gamble and lists with no utility and 0 liquidity, strictly degen stuff haha.
