HackaTRON Season 5 - 5,000USDD Community Contributor Prize

I suggest INFRASTRUCTURE TRACK should be added in the next season hackathon,…

Infrastructure are projects that specialized in providing components and systems that form the backbone of Blockchains , helping them run some stuffs smoothly ,… example is Streamr (DATA); they build a marketplace to trade real time data from vehicles, personal devices,Internet of things(IoT) gadgets, financial markets , weather stations etc
It will really be good one if we see more projects building more of IoT on Tron it will also helps grows the ecosystem, thank you.

Welcome again @TronLive, i was wondering when you will come to ask your questions since we were nearing the voting stage.

My brothers have said alot and i think its all good. Tron getting its own platform to hold their own hackathon its not bad at all, but we might be missing out on the valuable feedbacks these experts on devpost, hackerEarth etc have to offer the whole ecosystem. We can’t be an island the more important reason we need these partnerships to help us thrive.

Question 2.

I like it when you say newcomers will be guided to L2 ecosystem. My worry is, some of us have been here since the inception of Tron Hackathon, what are the team doing to help us also understand how the ecosystem works and functions in terms of building projects.
We can’t always be passive, we also want to create something for the love of the experience it brings. I think the team should help some of us dedicated forum members on what tools and apps to install and guide us on how to create something for the community also.

Question 3.
I think i have addressed that in question two.
We need step by step video tutorial on how to
Download and install tools to build projects on the BTTC.

We need someone dedicated to assist us in every step of the way.

Question 4.
In season 6 i like to see a side attraction category that deals with projects from dedicated community members. Just for the fun of it. Prizes can be attached to it or not. But it can be used as a grooming category to help us later play with the big boys.

We opted for L1 with the NFTs mint process while we built the game to have a market like APENFT so that users can interact. But the thought would be a Bridge with BTTC when the game is already in Beta, and create our economy there due to the low transactions. Although we are already seeing some more markets that work with BTTC in this Hackatron, but we had others in mind like nftmall.io where we launched collection tests there. But as I understand it, APENFT will incorporate other networks in the future such as ETH, so why not also BTTC.

It would also be good to add BRC721 to BTTC to be able to handle NFT tokens better, in bttcscan I mean. Then also some tutorial on how to work with BTTC in Tronlink with the new EVMs recently added, thus using Tronlink alone, without needing Metamask.

Hey @TronLive,

I have been following this discussion for sometime now and I must admit that all contributors has given a valuable suggestions on how to make this journey more interesting for both parties. Just as I’m not a developer, I lack the experience of what it feels like to access through these hackathon partners but I can say, it’s not a bad thing to keep working with them. The benefits of this cannot be talked enough. Building our own hackathon platform as suggested by many is superb :ok_hand: but what about receiving that expert guidance, being dispose to more audience and having a collaboration with other community?

Instead of planning on building our own platform, it’s more appropriate, FOR NOW, to consider making submissions more easier for participants e.g automatically duplicating their submissions and sent to the forum (partially suggested by Fabs).
This way, we will get to enjoy both collaborating with other hackathon experts with established audiences, and making hackathon submissions easy for our participants.

What new track I would like to see in next season of the hackathon?

Cybersecurity

Why?

Very simple. With the increasing number of cyber threats, I think a cybersecurity track would be extremely relevant in the coming hackathon. In this track, participants could work on developing secure systems, detecting and preventing cyber attacks, and designing innovative solutions to protect digital assets. This will not only increase trust in the crypto industry but also drive its adoption.

I don’t see what kind of expert guidance they are bringing, nor what visibility they are bringing for the last platform. It was hard to find Tron hackathon there without using the link on the forum (for the last platform).

We have been deeply investigating BTTC and it seems there is no support from the Blockchain for any project building there.

Using the chain is cheap and easy, and it would be a great place for high transaction volume games, meme coins, gambling site or whatsoever.

We for one are happy that an NFT platform is being developed, but with a site as ApeNFT in Tron’s influence, it would have been nice to already see BTTC support. Also a nice builder module like TronHub on Tron to support smart contracts staking etc would make it easy to enter and build

This is really a good call, I was having a conversation with @Nana6641 on future hopes for hackathon season 6 and my suggestion goes thus;
Most competitors always go AWOL after prize winning with little or no evidence of their project direction, so instead of a typical hackathon, consider a contributor’s prize winners inclusive hackaton in an extended format where selected teams receive mentorship and resources over several weeks to develop their projects, the community contributors checkmates the progress of the project and also report to The DAO for discrepancies, community should also be encouraged to come up with and get the relevant support for they own project, rather than competitors that folds after prize collection. This allows for more in-depth innovation and product development.

Ever since @Prince-Onscolo opened my eyes to privacy, I’ve been pretty big on security, so I’m suggesting a Cybersecurity and Privacy track, in an age of increasing cyber threats, a track dedicated to improving digital security and privacy measures can be highly relevant, thank you!

Yes I agree with you that it wasn’t a good experience with the last platform, saying from the remarks of various participants, and there are other great platforms which we can try out too. We shouldn’t rule out the possibility of another ease-to-use platforms like Dorahacks. In my personal research, I find out the both DataMeka and Devfolio are another great platforms for hackathon events. Imo, it won’t be bad if the team give it a try and see if the experience will be same with Dorahacks or even better. And for the impact, we have been seeing developers whom are new to Tron blockchain, lately, joining the hackathons (although most of them abandon their projects after prize distributions). I can’t surely say that they joined the hackathons from those platforms we used in organizing hackathons but the truth of how they find out about the Tron blockchain and the hackathons can’t be far from that. And even if we can’t see the visibility now, trust me, it’s really creating some level of visibility and it won’t be long before we start seeing the impacts we hope for.

As a builder on BTTC for S5 I have a few things to say.
The documentation is lacking. Regarding oracles for example Wink is indicated but there no info about BTTC integration.
BTTC in not supported by CMC
WBTT is not on CG, so even if the chain is supported all DEX pairs with WBTT are not tracked.

BTTC needs visibility and not being on the major coin tracking sites makes it really difficult.
