- I think teams and developers here will know better. From a user point of view we just have to test and read the submissions so wherever it is easier to find the list of projects is best. And as fabs said fortunately we have tron forum.
- Onsite events are great idea. Tronbuilders tour has been going successfully and from what I noticed. We have some teams participating from these universities where Tron team has been touring. I am not sure how a whole hackaTRON will be conducted onsite maybe a shorter quicker format hackaTRON can be done. Local events for community will be great to spread the word-TRON. I think these events should also be broadcasted live on X/Youtuber for greater reach.
Hows gone that hackthon experience ?
1.The developers are the best people to answer question 1.
- I’ll definitely attend an onsite event if it was near my locality
- In my personal opinion I prefer Dora hacks. It’s easier to keep track of people who actually joined the hackathon. It has become a common practice in dev post to have 2k people joined and at the end of the day only 200 people actually joined the competition. Hacker earth also has this drawback.
- Yes i would totally attend! If an onsite event is held in Minnesota I can help setup different task to engage my friends and new people into TRON, I have a lot of people who are willing to participate. I will also suggest an onsite event is held in Africa, most of our very active users here on the forum are either from Ghana, Nigeria and other African countries, it won’t hurt to have at least one onsite event in Africa next season. I personally know @Nweke-nature1.com @Prince-Onscolo @Nana66419 @Gordian and others will be willing to help! @TronLive @admin.hackathon
- While DevPost works well, we might also consider DoraHacks or Gitcoin. Both are popular for blockchain hackathons and offer features like decentralized participation and funding, which align with TRON’s goals. They’re worth exploring for more specialized tools.
- Yes, a coder as well as a non-coder, would love to attend an event to connect with the TRON team and others in the community.
damn! its’s my first time here, and made a project, if Power trading sounds good check out our project idea! open for suggestions.
I had a question in my mind like to be eligible for the Contributor Prize, a contributor should be active from the start of the hackathon or they can start now also?
Ask provoking question. NOTED

I have experience in many different platforms. All I can say is DevPost is by far the greatest with its advanced support. I always feel like DoraHacks is project spamming area. It is hard to follow projects there too. People are copying from each other too much.
-
Just one word: YES
feel free brother, what is needed is being active and helping especially during the Hackatron sessions. You can start anytime
Okay thanks for the clarification @Prince-Onscolo !
Just a small clarification, though — this account is actually managed by a her.
Hahahaha sorry my dear sister, you are welcome
Enjoy your stay. Feel free and ask or share anything with us
Hehe no worries!
Thank you, I am going through all the projects and I see cool stuffs are build by the Builders.
I will try to provide the constructive feedback which can help in fostering growth and improvement of the overall community.
love the energy, keep it up dear
Personally I feel DoraHacks is just a dumping ground for bugs and bsc projects.
With TRON hackathons, I’ve had the opportunity to experience 2 hackathon platforms Dorahacks and DevPost. I’ve been able to post submissions on both platform with ease. However, I find DevPost more simpler for entering a hackathon. I remember facing some difficulties initially on DoraHacks for getting my submission approved.
It would be my honor to attend a Tron real life event and connect with fellow developers and community members. I would also love to co-host or help organize a Tron event with the trondao team.
I would also like to take opportunity of this post to inform tronics about UpDawg Community Contributors Fund which is inspired by HackaTRON Community Contributor Prize, and it’s now funding uDawg_bot weekly /leaderboard prizepool.
I look forward to all you tronics to give uDawg_bot a try, and to serve this amazing community to the best of my ability.
Checked a couple of projects over time, can’t guarantee any specific one, let the voting come an we see their categories, i might not vote if quite unsure.
- For organizing a Hackathon, particularly one as dynamic as HackaTRON, there are a few solid alternatives to DevPost you could explore. Here are some platforms that have gained traction and may suit your needs:
A. HackerEarth – Widely used for hackathons, it provides a comprehensive suite for managing submissions, judging, and participant communication. The platform is known for its user-friendly interface and engagement features like leaderboards and real-time updates, which could keep the HackaTRON experience exciting.
B. Dare2Compete – Ideal for larger, open-ended hackathons, Dare2Compete caters well to both beginner and advanced participants. It offers features for handling multiple rounds, automating communication, and ensuring robust backend support.
C. Junction – This is a Finland-based platform, which could be a unique twist if you’re looking for a global feel. It’s known for its strong community-oriented interface and excellent organizational tools, such as team-matching algorithms and multi-channel chat options.
D. Untap Compete – This is a flexible platform, not limited to hackathons, so you could easily configure it for HackaTRON. Untap provides tools for project management, detailed analytics, and is fairly customizable.
-
Eventornado – Especially strong on user experience, it provides good customization options and supports end-to-end hackathon management. Eventornado is excellent for engaging participants and making them feel part of a community.
-
Gitcoin – If you want a more developer-focused and blockchain-aligned platform, Gitcoin might be a perfect fit. It’s well suited for technical hackathons and is particularly popular for open-source projects and incentivized collaboration.
Each platform has its unique strengths, so considering your HackaTRON goals and target audience might help in narrowing down the options. Trying a few free demos or short trials with some of them could also give you an idea of which is the best fit.
- Yes! We’re based in Alberta, Canada, and would be interested in co-hosting or helping to organize a local onsite HackaTRON event. We’d also love to attend and connect with the TRON team and community members at a nearby event, even for those who aren’t coders.
Btw TronVerse is also located here!
its a good experience to learn about hackatron
